I get it- it took me years to get over the anger towards my ex-wife and all the crap she pulled during our divorce. But once I realized it was all about her issues not mine, and no longer obsessed over it, life got tons better. Now I just feel sorry for her. If her name comes up in conversation, I pretty much say "things didn't work out, hopefully she's in a better place", and leave it at that rather than going on about all of her issues and character flaws.

It's not meaningless though is it? We are still discussing it. You don't need to be wise to realise that when you are talking about something we all lived, that it was a shared experience.

We all experienced it night after night.

It's the lies posted as truth that makes this kinda web based fucktittery meaningless.

It's meaningless because it pertains to a couple of individuals who are no longer together.

Doesn't matter what's true, what's fiction, or if it's the ole' his story, her story and the truth- which is almost always somewhere in between. Doesn't really matter if some forum rule regarding PI might have been broken, no one cares and no one is going to get banned or otherwise punished over it.

What happened between this former couple who obviously had their struggles is none of your business and none of my business and although some clearly derive a great deal of fascination and entertainment in gossip between two people who are no longer together. To me it indicates that such a person has very little of interest happening in their own personal lives to be occupied with so they focus on the drama that is unfolding in the lives of others.

As an aside, continuing to post negatively about an ex may indicate unresolved anger issues. There's no need to rent space to an ex in your head and spend your valuable and limited time posting about all of their shortcomings and their numerous transgressions. I mean there's no law that says you can't, it's just not healthy.

It's obviously important to you. Not sure why though. It's not really a shared experience just because two people are trashing each other and you read about it and contributed your opinion in some manner as to who you thought was more or less honest.

It's like watching a football game. You're "there" and you can say "oh that was a great call" or "what was the coach thinking" but it's not your game and what you think and what you say really doesn't matter.
