@Joe

I thought I had posted this before. Apparently, I didn't since I can't find it.

If I had my druthers, we would not overdetermine the consequences of this election. The opposition besting the president’s party in the first midterm contest is not exactly a world-historic first. But since everyone seems to insist that we have to talk about it in grand sweeping terms, I will take a shot at explaining why, apart from the bare fact of enjoying a loss for the Clintons as much as the next right-of-center take-worker, I am not optimistic, much less enthusiastic, about Youngkin.

Over and over again we have been told that Youngkin won because he promised to “ban” something called “critical race theory” or “CRT.” Prescinding from the difficult question of what CRT means to its opponents (I am not convinced that it functions as anything except shorthand for “The basic assumptions that make up the worldview of most educated Americans,” including Youngkin), I find myself asking what exactly this “ban” is supposed to look like? Could it be an executive order, one that would be immediately subject to any number of (likely successful) legal challenges? Could it be a piece of legislation that, in the unlikely event it passes in the statehouse, would also be taken hostage by the courts, perhaps for years at a time? No one knows, and what’s more, no one seems to care. A victory of epochal proportions was declared more than 36 hours ago by television pundits, political consultants, and a handful of intelligent writers who should know better.

I thought Youngkin won in part because he focused on a middle of the rooad appealing message to moderate Virginia voters. He wasn't a divisive candidate.

If the Publicans want a suitable Presidential candidate for 2024, he should be the one, not DE santis or Trump.

I posted it because dumbasses have stated that I only read from "liberal" sources. Untrue.

He won because he lied about CRT in Virginia. And if you read into what this author is saying, Youngkin is a phony.

Youngkin in his corporate role.

He'll play lgtbq friendly or anti CRT if it suits his personal ambitions. Congrats cons!

Listening to him is like hearing a Physics Professor read Trump quotations translated and edited into normal person speak. With no bad hair or dubious posture.

Youngkin won mainly because Democrats lied. They pushed CRT, McAuliffe claimed parents had no business discussing their children's education, and then ignorant suburban house wives who always voted Democrat turned on them.

End. Of.

Mouth off to suburban house wives/working moms from the suburbs and tell them they don't get a say in their kid's education and then you go from 65% of dumb women voting Democrat to 35% of dumb women voting Democrat. Fact.

If they paid more attention to begin with they never would have voted Democrat.

Yeah I saw that clip & it was just that one gaffe which cost him the election. You think a seasoned politician with years of experience would have known better.

He could have skirted the issue ever so slightly or even used it to his advantage.

What I thought he could have said is "Yes - we support parents' right to choose their curriculum. We are flexible in that regard."

Then he could have taken a dig at his opponent by saying "Not only that, we will not ban books from libraries as we are a democratic party who believe in free speech. "

Frick I woulda had an answer ready and rehearsed it every morning & evening before I went to bed.

If anything McCaullife was a politician off his game. Sign of age perhaps? Replaced by an up and Comer eh.

McAuliffe was busy sucking teacher's unions dick and lying to parents. That is why he lost.

I'm not speaking as a partisan.

Just analyzing their play books.

And Youngkin, a former varsity NCAA basketball player seemed to be on his game and McCaullife wasn't.

M got hammered because he didn't address the education issue.

Youngkin scored a very 'athletic' victory.

Just had a better strategy than McCaullife.

Not sure if that translates into how well he'll govern.

He does seem like a more suitable Republican candidate for US president than either Trump or DE santis tho.

Y'all wanna know why Youngkin won? As a fuckin' Virginian, let me tell you.....

1) yes, the whole "parents shouldnt decide what their kids are taught" hurt McCucklife, but Virginians were allowed to vote nearly 2 months prior to election. So McCucklife would've really had a LOT less votes, had that come out sooner. The Mom's and Dad's of Virginia awoke, and said "fuck this sum'bitch!"

2) yes, Youngkin opposed CRT, as should anyone with a right mind! Its fuckin' racist. Again, Parents rose up, and said "fuck this sum'bitch!"

3) the Loudon county cover up, of the "tranny" raping a girl in the bathroom, two times he was caught doing this to girls, and the school trying to sweep it under the rug. Virginians said the same thing that Kyle did to pedos, "fuck these sum'bitches!"

4) McCucklife fucked Virginia before, Virginia remembers, and Virginians said "fuck this sum'bitch!"

5) Northam fucked Virginia so bad, allowing abortion of new born babies, thusly, Virginians said "fuck these sum'bitches!"

6) Northam fucked Virginians with heritage, allowing unlimited reign on destroying century old monuments to our heros. Virginians said "fuck these sum'bitches!"

7) Biden........ need I say more?

FUCK THESE SUM'BITCHES!!!!!!!!

I really don't know why we as a society have to cater to anyone's sexual orientation.

what comes next? The way people shit in the toilet and how much comes out?

Why doesn't the establishment make excrement a sub culture too?

Yeesh. Gimme a break.

Sex is a biological function, not a culture.

Anyone rich or poor is capable of it just like they are using the toilet.

How is not discriminating in housing, work and institutions like marriage, catering?

Do you believe in human freedom and being treated equally under the law? I do. That includes all humans, even ones I don't like or understand.

I think regarding marriage, the LGBTQ should have gotten their own separate instiution or civil catageory. This has been arranged in a nation like Switzerland where they are recognized as Civil Unions as opposed to Traditional Marriage.

Yes, Civil Unions have rights too.

Marriage between man and woman and man/man or woman/woman have completely different outcomes.
None of the latter can result in an actual pregnancy without an outside interveion such as aritificial insemination.

I also think there has to be a clear distincition and separate legal category created for Transgender so they are never categorized as biological women.

Yes, I accept that these groups exist and should be granted legal rights, but separately because they are distinct and not the same as traditional genders or unions.

You care too much about things that don't really impact you. Marriage isn't about pregnancy, though it is a normal outcome of marriage. It is about commitment to another.

Why do you care? Why not live and let live without any input from you?

I believe in actual freedom, not conditional freedom. And I don't mean for people that have committed terrible crimes...need to say that before an idiot brings that up.
