He died for all of our sins apparently, except for da blacks and the Jews.

Here we go with the religious bigot projecting his ignorant racism on people for no reason in a thread about animals.

Bland why dont you go down to the Meltdown section where your irrational fear and hate of others can be contained in a section where reading it is more on topic and voluntary? This board owner was gracious enough to provide an outhouse for random internet feces.

I worked as a volunteer for the Human Society for many years. I can't count the number of times that people would bring in their Pitbulls to be put down because they "snapped" and bit someone.

ALL were TRAINED from pups in loving and caring environments to be family pets. The most vivid memory I have was a big burly man, bawling his eyes out, crying/wailing how he did everything right..coddled, loved- said that he was the most loving dog he had ever owned. His niece was playing with him and the dog "snapped" and attacked her, biting her body and face :( He was shocked because the dog had NEVER shown any type of aggression in the 6 years he owned him.

I'm sure people will say that ANY DOG can turn. But, the pit can lock his jaw and not let go. They were BANNED here in Michigan for a while. We were putting down dogs/puppies that were Pit OR Pit mixed. The Pit mix, I didn't agree with, due to the fact they were put down based on appearance, instead of any type of dna test. :( I'm sure there were many times dogs/puppies were put down that shouldn't have been.. Extremely heartbreaking.

I seriously CRINGE when I see people let small children climb all over this breed or let a child get in the face of this breed. I view it as a form of child abuse, tbh :/ It is your choice to own one, of course, but ALWAYS be on guard.. PLEASE! I speak by experience and have seen, FIRST HAND how these "good dogs" can turn in a blink of an eye. Take your chance.. Personally, it wouldn't be worth it to me..

Just to piss off the Pit lovers.(gotta do that ;) ) I got to cut off the head of one of these dogs and still remember the "snap" when using the bolt cutters to finish the job.. :) Don't get too irate, tho lol, the dog had already been put down. It had seriously injured someone and it was protocol to bag the head and send it in for rabies testing lol.

I LOVE DOGS, more than people, sometimes. I had to stop volunteering there, it was just too heartbreaking for me.. I would get in my car at the end of the day and cry my eyes out before driving home. sigh. Easy to lose faith in humanity, for sure :'(

That's the issue though. No children should ever be allowed to climb on any dogs. Or get in their faces.

And because of dog hierarchy rules you shouldnt really "coddle" or let them sleep in beds with humans (unless it's at the foot or on the floor)

I'm not saying the dogs are not potentially dangerous. I'm saying that people can mean well and think they have trained the dog to be loving or whatever......but they've either humanized the dogs like babies or missed the mark in some other way when it comes to how that dog needs to be trained in its "place"....if that makes sense. They HAVE to understand they are NOT the alpha.

And kids cant be allowed to climb on dogs or get in their faces.....that's a great way to get the sweetest dogs ever to lash out. What we see as affection a dog can see as a threat or challange.

Im SURE many people who have had a dog bite or become aggresive believed their dog was well trained or sweet but they overlooked something and the dog was triggered. Animals dont go psycho suddenly.....it looks that way to people, because they are not thinking like a dog. If that makes sense.

Decapitation is standard due to rabies for dogs and cats. I'm aware. I understand the strong feelings some people have towards some breeds of dogs. I'm just saying the problem with aggresive dogs is people who get them and dont keep them properly. Like people who get high energy breeds and dont provide the needed lifestyle for that dog to spend its energy so it tears up the house and they dump it at a shelter? People often do not take the time to know the breed.

People can SAY they trained the dog from a pup and they believe they did....but in reality they just housebroke it and got it mostly behaved. Not so much TRAINED. Like a dog trainer familiar with dog behavior would train them. I see people with dogs horrible on a leash....the dog is choking itself trying to get to you while the owner yells "it's cool he is nice". Right.

I heard Michigan went no kill.....but I feel like that's a lie.

Very few dog breeds can be considered truly peaceful and even those can snap depending on the situation.

The problem with pitbulls is that they continue attacking for a long time after they start, they never give up or retreat, even when they're being pummeled. You literally have to kill them to stop their rampage in many cases.

And they're extremely strong dogs, their bite does more damage than pretty much any other breed.

And if my cats were not sterilized they would be fighting for territory and resource guarding and pissing everywhere.

All of this is easily avoided by sterilization.

That bullshit Dove LMAO Strelized cats fight like fuck just the same

still marking territory albeit with a less smelly piss

Well I currently have 12.....yes 12....and i have no problems.

They have enough litter boxes that are kept very clean. We have 3 multi level cat trees. We have plenty of access to windows and 3 food bowls and 3 water fountains.

They are all sterilized and well behaved. Aside from the occasion hallway show downs that end quickly with no violence......they dont even piss on anything.

You just have to make sure their cat needs are met.

Some of them get agitated if a strange cat comes up on the deck.. but they just growl and chatter at it through the window.

People that have come in here are always floored I have 12 and they go on about how you cant smell them and they ask tons of questions lol

I;ll video the nightly rumbles in the jungles with all these males outdoors I got fixed and released, they fight like demons, the females fight other females, beats me why I thought it would all stop when they were fixed but nope

Those are ferals, X.

They are not socialized and never will be.

There is a small window during a cats kittenhood where it learns to be cool with humans. If the kitten isnt exposed to humans and grows up.....its a wild animal. And will never be socialized (tamed).

I've trapped two and TNRed them since moving here. They can be pretty dangerous if you dont know what you are doing.

I have a lot of mid life friendlies..that one AI posted a pic of with his tonhue habging out is one

Which is why if someone is going to have one they need to be very responsible keeping it and know and respect what they have. People get bully breeds like pits or mastives and they think house breaking and teaching them to sit is enough and it's not.

We have all these animals here and no dog. Because I know I cannot devote the time and resources to have a dog responsibly. Getting any dog is a big deal, getting a very strong bully breed requires a lot of responsibility and care. They really are great dogs if people invest in them.
