Though there is no clear data about how many Americans have moved because of climate-related trends such as wildfires, heat waves, drought and hurricanes, there are signs that people may be weighing these risks when purchasing a home.

Will climate change prompt moves?

Nearly half (49%) of respondents say they plan to move in the next year, blaming extreme temperatures and the increasing frequency or intensity of natural disasters, according to a survey commissioned this year by real estate website Redfin. The survey involved 2,000 U.S. residents contacted from Feb. 25 to March 1.

Uh oh, Strapon.

Based on that insight, Redfin will announce Tuesday that it is adding local climate risk data to its site, the company told USA TODAY exclusively.

Yeah...I think we’re all going to be in a bit of poo-poo a little down the track.

it's serious. Climate change deniers and finger pointers infuriate me. We all have to do something.
It’s a hard task when it’s largely out of our hands (the common people) as far as the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation goes. I vote for the greens and recycle wherever possible, but as the article states, our governments need to set the example and make the real changes.

Yeah. Like I said, pointing fingers always helps. We already know the oligarchs in both parties are hypocrites.

I have friends who lost their house in a fire and another friend who had to evacuate three times in the last two years. This shit is serious. The people have to do something. Fuck the oligarchs.

Here’s another interesting article regarding NASA’s assessment of rising global temperatures:

Well, yes, but our governments often only make change when the people demand it.

Everyone should vote for Greens and stop voting for the hustlers in the corporate parties. That would be a good start. People need to stop buying huge houses and driving everywhere. People need to demand more public transport.

Also, don't eat so much beef. Do you know how many forests disappear in order to raise cows? And how much water a pound of beef takes? I'm not saying become vegan, but for god's sake, no one needs to eat the huge slabs of meat so many people consume. It's bad for your health anyway.

Funny that you should talk about the amount of water in beef. When I used to make my own biltong (beef jerky), I was surprised to find that I lost nearly half the weight during the dehydration process.

I'll never accept a lecture from people who use plastic bags and plastic single use water bottles.....I mean, come on.

Cory Bush used more plastic in one night on the steps protesting to destroy landlords lives than I use in a month.

@Dove, here's yet another rightie denying climate change. It's weird how you don't understand that this is a common stance among righties.

The irony is with all these rising sea levels and lands being washed away, Michigan may become desireable again because it's above sea level.

The denial aside... He does make a good point about how the west (as well as former Warsaw Pact countries) has cut emissions since 1991. They have skyrocketed every where else. The vast majority doesn't even come from 1st world countries anymore.

Could have a lot to do with this:

...like...how come 50-60 years ago when cars and industrial practices were much less efficient, we didn't have global warming?

We might tell/remind these poorer nations to cut their population growh rates as well...opr else face the consequences.

But it's seems to e taboo subject that politicians and the West are unable to admit to.

Twice as many people translate into twice as many emissions.

Wel....they're gonna have ta find out the hard way...Lokmeer!

Natura/Natural Selection will be their teacher.

All those COVID deaths in INdia should have been a weak up call to them to reduce their birth rate, eh?

All these waterways they depend on could one day dry up like the Ganges and Yantzee because they get all the water from the Mountains. And if the snowcaps all melt, then tits up for them, eh? They'll reap what they saw.
