We literally point this out everytime we explain why federal socialized medical industry would be a nightmare for the people.
....doesnt seem that socialized medicine could ever work in the States
@Dove.
Best the US can do is individual states offering it if their residents want it badly enough.
Socialised Healthcare is shit. Anything run by government falls apart.
Works fer me
@Frood.
However I don't use our hospital system like a hotel or Best Western. I don't know why anyone would wanna stay at a hospital for any extended period of time if they don't have to.
We have some pretty 1st rate hospitals in Vancouver on par with the best ones in Europe or the United States.
And they are all government run & completely free.
The major problem is is that when you guys get the policies you want, you kinda kick dust in the faces of the people who suffer because of weaknesses in that policy.
Of its tried here and end ups all kinds of fucked up and it's worse than what we have now? Our leftists will literally ignore the suffering and cries for help and focus on the people it works for.
That's how it is.
Y'know
@Dove, the interesting thing about the province of Nova Scotia & that part of Canada is they had the lowest rates and numbers of COVID deaths/infections in all of Canada during this pandemic.
In fact....the entire world. Fewer than 1500 deaths total, out of 40,000 Canada wide.
The combined total of those 4 provinces was lower than a single province like where I live.
I think where
@The Prowler lives, Ontario and Quebec accounted for 75% of the COVID deaths in Canada, even tho they have vastly superior and better funded medical systems.
This, despite having one of the most underfunded medical systems in Canada.
And as you point out...a lack of physicians, specialists & even nurses/health professionals.
It's also the poorest region in the country. Highest unemployment. Generally the poorest performing area economically.
So...might have to do with the ocean air? Or an abundance of seafood in their diets?
People more psychologically & emotionally healthy? Just happier people all around?
Not sure. But it also may have something to do with better community based medical systems where the people take care of each other better. a Slower more human pace of life.
So all the money they thow at the best funded medical systems in the world, such as the USA or Europe...doesn't necessarily translate into saved lives of lower rates of infection.
