'Murica is still this timeline's supervillain

Rather than change course to more accurately reflect the actual will of the people the 'Murican government will turn to increasingly blatant expressions of authoritarianism at home and abroad. It's the only tool they have left; they've almost entirely abandoned even the pretense of legitimacy in favor of naked power and aggression.

It didn't happen overnight.
It's not restricted to one administration or party.

But it was predictable.
Too many chose not to see it because of partisan groupthink and the brainrot of establishment propaganda.

It's too late to prevent what's happening, may that offer whatever consolation the willing and unwitting collaborators can find.

The rest of us may even forgive you some day; forgetting is going to be a different story.

'Murica doesn't have "allies" or "partners" and it sure as fuck doesn't have any "friends".

It has vassal states.

That's one of the reasons the 'Murican imperial project is doomed... eventually vassal states become disgruntled at the unendurable exploitation and betray their overlords. It's inevitable. The only reason it doesn't happen more often is the certainty that any defectors will find themselves targeted by 'Murica and might become the next Libya, or Iraq, or Cuba, or Venezuela, or etc. etc.

Only when alternatives like BRICS are large and well-organized enough to shield their member states from the petulant wrath of 'Murican tantrums (or 'Murica implodes under the weight of its own bullshit) will the vassals begin to flee in rapid succession.

'Murica and "Israel" are functionally one entity. "Israel" is the ultimate proxy because it's been designed, implemented, and built to *be* a proxy. "Israel" is the shell company behind which the empire hides its controlling shares and nefarious maneuvers. "Israel" is, at best, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 'Murica.Inc and its entire purpose is the subjugation of that region while providing the parent company, 'MuricaInc, with limited liability.

When I was a youngish taking my US Foreign policy course, I got to know the TA that did the one on one teaching with us after the Prof's lectures. She was getting her doctorate in ME politics...

She said to me, and it made perfect sense then, we're talking about 1987-1988, that Israel only exited for the West (most the US by then) to keep the Arabs from forming a Pan Arab alliance, and we benefitted from not just oil, but also the geopolitics.

And we see it today with fractured alliances and some internal strife among the individual countries in the ME.

I think I know the reason why!
