MLB needs a salary cap.

AND a floor as well. 95% of Ohtani's salary is deferred for 5 years and more.

not bad, $350+ mil buys a World Series and only 7 teams in the entire league are contenders as a result.
The collective bargaining agreement expires next December and rumors are that owners are going to push for a cap. My opinion is that it is high time for a cap to be adapted. All the other leagues have caps so I don't see why MLB should be different.

A salary cap makes sense.
It aught to be capped at say double the average worker's salary - individual salaries that is.
/These preening posers athletes make more per game than many hard working fans make in a lifetime - that is absurd. Of course that is not all that is making pro sports unwatchable these days - the general pussification of the games is a put-off. Lodge ball rule indeed. LoLz

Double the average worker's salary?

Ha!!!

That is absurd.

I agree that they are paid too much. But I also realize the time and effort it takes to even have a shot at making it in the big leagues. Not to mention that once they make it there, they live and breath their "job" all season long. And then most of the off-season is dedicated to preparing for the next season.

Also, the "stuck in the fence rule" has been that way for a long time. I have a 2010 Rule Book right here and the rule is there. That is at least 35 years.

. Shit, I knew I dozed off for a bit but are you saying it's 2045?
I guess that accounts for the long bear.

I wanted to give you an opportunity to abandon your silly positions and jump onto a topic that you have a chance at winning....

You jumped at the opportunity.

Which is what I expected.

And before you get carried away...the "stuck in the fence" rule has been around for more than 35 years.
