My foraging finally paid off. Found and picked 7 really nice Porcinis yesterday. Biggest I’ve ever seen. Took most of the day, and lots of bush wacking. I’ll probably give most of them away.
Just did a look up,<a href="" target="_blank"><img src="" alt="3d7c143f-9f87-45bb-9bae-cbb8cc1a4b91"/></a>

We picked these right in the coastal hills, north of Jenner, if you know where that is. We also found some more inland, but they were soft and the maggots got to them. They were Boletus Edulis. We ate them with pasta, on Pizza, gave some away, and dried what was left. Wow the flavor…… Going back out on Sunday. Chanterelles should be showing soon.Just did a look up,
The Latin (scientific) name for porcini mushrooms is Boletus edulis. This species is widely known as the king bolete or penny bun in English, and it belongs to the Boletaceae family.
Ones I pick are commonly twice the size of yours. Maybe living on a Forest with a damper climate is why, biggest one I picked was aboot 8 times the size. You may have picked Boletus Satanis which will get you puking and shitting for a couple of days.![]()
Psilocybin is food of the gods.
I'm in the UK, the gills or sponge is quite often a darkish karki green. If you have a lot of pine woods do you find many parasols?
Daves score from Tuesday.
I used to go picking psylobin when wet enough sept/october . that shit heals the mind. When I lived in CR, we would find Psilocybe cubensis in every field with cows during the rainy season. I wasn’t too familiar with these. Had to depend on Ticos. One whole one would do it.
