A pizza delivery driver in Kensington, Penn., defended himself when a man allegedly attempted to rob him on Jan. 27, 2022.
The 39-year-old driver was outside a residence delivering an order just after 7:30 p.m. that Thursday evening, when a man approached him. As the stranger got closer, he produced a gun, aimed it at the driver and demanded his car. Yet, unknown to the crook, the driver was also armed.
The driver rapidly drew his own firearm and opened fire. He shot at the crook several times, with some of the rounds finding their mark. When police arrived, they found the stricken would-be carjacker suffering from multiple wounds, and he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. (, Philadelphia, Penn., 01/28/2022)

A Salt Lake City, Utah, homeowner was disturbed late at night by a knocking at his door. After telephoning police, the homeowner armed himself and answered the door. An armed man standing in the door fired at the resident, who returned fire. In the ensuing struggle the homeowner fatally wounded the man. (The Tribune, Salt Lake City, Utah)

A woman in Coldwater, Miss., defended herself and others when a crazed man allegedly broke into a home and began shooting on Jan. 24, 2022.
The incident started sometime after 8 p.m. that Monday evening, when a 63-year-old man began firing into the air in front of a neighboring home. The man then went to a nearby house and forced his way in. After making his way into the home, the man continued to fire his gun randomly. Three people were home at the time and were quickly alerted to the intruders presence through his loud entrance.
A woman inside the home, who was an acquaintance of the crazed man, armed herself and opened fire on the intruder. Her shots hit the man, ending his trigger-happy spree. The woman called police, who arrived to find the stricken intruder dead from his wounds. Police determined that the woman had justifiably defended herself and the other residents, and she was not charged. (, Memphis, Tenn., 01/26/2022)
