I live in a small New Hampshire apartment with two cats, and the amount of fur on the floors has me looking at robot vacuums for the first time. The 2026 models all seem to promise better obstacle avoidance and self-emptying, but I'm not sure any of that matters in a place this cramped. My main worry is whether a robot can actually handle litter tracked across a hallway and cat hair wrapped around a brush without me rescuing it every day. I also don't know if self-emptying is worth the extra bulk in a tight closet. I have no hands-on experience with any of these, just what I've read around online. If you've got pets and a small space, what has actually worked for you, and what would you skip? Curious whether the newer sensors are a real improvement or just marketing.
