I never said that Ukraine is part of NATO.

In 2021, at a NATO summit, they did indicate that Ukraine would eventually be part of NATO. That is what pushed Russia too far.

I am not responsible for your poor comprehension skills, but you are welcome to Post a Link to my post that confused you and I will try to help you understand your mistake.

So what?

Ukraine joining NATO should never have been an option.

And NATO knew that.

NATO knew what they were doing i.e. forcing Russia to respond.
I Love when imbeciles like Lily buy into the idea that Ukraine needed to join NATO to stave off some kind of imminent invasion.

History has shown clearly that it was the act of applying to NATO membership which actually caused the very thing they claimed to be mitigating by applying in the first place. An intelligent person would look back and say to themselves, well damn that was dumb and wonder to themselves what might have happened if Ukraine hadn't applied.

What would have happened? Russia would have invaded them? :LOL3:

I hope they end the war soon even if it means Ukraine losing some territory.

If they manage to stop the War, it'll probably be like North and South Korea with major international mediation & a DMZ

Are you one of the dupes who believes that Ukraine ""needed"" to join NATO to stave off a looming invasion by Russia?
No, of course not. That was the dumbest move they could have made.

But there's no denying what Pootie's been up to vis a vis Ukraine for over a decade now.

why should that be any of our concern? Democracy? C'mon, you seem smart enough to realize the U.S doesn't truly believe in democracy by now. This is about feeding the industrial war machine and enriching those at the top of the PONZI scheme. Biden and Zelensky included. Nothing more.

I say there would have been a stronger argument on the world stage to make Putin out to be the criminal we all know he is if they would have allowed sleeping dogs to lay undisturbed and NOT attempted to provoke him with public attempt to join NATO.

If the guy declares joining NATO is a prelude to an invasion believe him. Just like the Russians believed Kennedy back in the sixties

I fully agree. But if you think for a second that if Russia actually takes Ukraine they will stop there, that's a fantasy. Poland next, then the revenge tour of Norway and Sweden.

We'll be dragged into it whether we like it or not.

About Kennedy and the Russians, I experienced the Cuban Missile Crisis as a young lad. We were lucky to have him for the brief period we did.

I'm a fiscal conservative that leans pretty liberal. I KNOW Biden was a complete failure and I voted for him anyway.

Couldn't justify the alternative back then and am completely baffled by the recent election. Don't get me wrong. Dems are a fucked up bunch.

I get that. But realistically what does Ukraine bring to the table that puts us at a significant disadvantage on the world stage should Putin invade it then wait another 2 to 8 years to invade a country like Poland?

I see things through the lens of what is best for America first. Consolidating a former state back into the fold is not really that big a deal to me to be honest. It would be like Texas Seceding from the union, The federal government invading them to bring them back into the fold and China suddenly feeling like they needed to wage a direct conflict with us to stop it.

Makes no sense. Let these other areas of the world sort their own issues out. We have enough of our own to contend with.

Despite some fundamental differences in belief I get the feeling we can agree to disagree on a variety of matters without seeing the decent into silly braying which is all too common among the libtards around here whenever they are cornered.

And as an aside. I realize Trump has a plethora of flaws but this election was about two things.

a. choosing the best out of the worst

b. A referendum on the abysmal failure that was the Biden administration.

Harris asked the American people to turn the page and they smartly obliged

I was surprised not surprised by the result.

What was interesting to me was it shut everyone up who was screaming "stolen election" for the last four years.

Still trying to parse the numbers though. It was crazy lopsided in 2020 yet the popular vote was pretty close this year. The real key was the republicans ground game in the swing states. That's where this election was won.

And the "installation" of Harris was a key to the Dems failure. They never miss an opportunity to fuck things up.

Well there is the small matter of over 15 million votes disappearing from the 2020 election to this one.

Putting that aside for now.

A large population of people believe that democrat voters were somehow disenfranchised by not having a second primary to determine who would replace Biden. I disagree with with that premise. Here's why. Any voter competent enough to cast a ballot should be aware that the number one responsibility of a vice president is to ensure the continuance of existing leadership should the president become unavailable to perform his/her duties at any time.

So in essence, every democrat DID have their voices heard when they voted in a man already well into his twilight years

So far from it for me to defend libtards for any reason but in this instance I have to disagree. Kamala was not installed. She was the proper successor to the seat. A successor every democrat who casted a ballot in favor Biden actually did vote for by extension.
