Having run several boards in the past I know that what BF speaks is truth.

This is one of the liveliest and more interesting boards I've posted at in years to be honest. It's refreshing. The level of intelligence, personality and community is greatly appreciated.

Last time I was ever involved with the finances of running a site, it was about $20 a month minimum just to keep the lights on, plus the annual cert. and domain fees etc.

I had a free board as far as the software went (EZBoard), but the hosting was about 20 bucks a month plus the yearly URL fees etc. I'm fairly tech savvy so I was able to parse most of the mods in myself without webmaster help.

My thing was pirate radio back then. This was before podcasting, and I had a live show every friday night off the site for a while.

Took almost all my free time and I loved it.
