You know, I have never stayed downtown though have went to downtown Vegas. The process seem really attractive and my friend was telling me he hates the location of the Luxor. I heard the Freemont hotel and casino downtown just got renovated a few months ago and their prices are rock bottom plus they have some amazing food specials going there ($12.99 New York strip with lobster, $10.99 12 oz prime rib, $0.99 shrimp cocktails, $2 beers, etc...).

For downtown the Golden Nugget seems to be the place to be if you are coming with kids. Two giant pools with water slides, a good location, rooms that are easily 100 ft2 larger than the other hotels and really good prices on the rooms.

Will you be in Vegas this weekend? Saturday we will be at my brother in law's birthday but I might have time otherwise.

There is a difference from being on a budget and being wise with your money. Also Vegas is what you make up it. I am not surprised you are miserable there or any where else. It must suck to be old, alone, and suffering from a mental illness like TDS which controls your entire life.

A commercial shit hole in the middle of the Nevada desert. A better choice would be South Lake Tahoe. Californias jewel, the Sierras, right on the state line.

Fuck that. Reno is tiny and buried in snow. To compare Vegas is 80 degrees and sunny plus I am going there because it is my brother in law's birthday, as I said. I see you are still to stupid to read.

Third day in Vegas and it has been mobbed with all the people who wanted to speed Easter in sin city. Three days in and I am only down about $200 despite tipping $5 per drink and putting around $2000 into machines or on the tables. Downtown Grand seems to have the best rules on blackjack and a decent 12 oz prime rib dinner for $14.99, the $11.99 steak and lobster dinner at Fremont was rather meh, Esther's Kitchen was fucking amazing (honestly the best northern Italian restaurant I have ever been to plus prices were reasonable given the high quality and that everything is made in house as a farm to table restaurant).

The kids loved the three story water slide at the Golden Nugget especially the tunnel which goes through the giant aquarium full of sharks before it dumps them out into the giant horse shoe shaped pool at around 20 mph. El Cortez is very generous with the drink, Binon's as well as 4 Queens smell and fell old and run down plus their security needs to do a better job keeping the hookers out One even propositioned my 13 year old son as he was walking with my wife and I to some place or other. The mafia museum is a very interesting all ages place to visit and not only is the history cool but they have a ton of historic artifacts plus at the end they have a remake of a prohibition era speakeasy.

Oh, if you are ever near downtown Vegas and in search of any amazing breakfast try "Eat". Anthony Bourdain was correct giving that place his person seal of approval. Prices are even fairly reasonable with lots of options to customize. It is kind of sad that there is now only one casino left in downtown Vegas which still has a buffet. Main Street Station still has their buffet but it kind of sucks even at the low price of $22. To compare the Hawaiian OxTail Soup at The California was top notch. Seriously it sounds weird but it is a perfect late night light meal.

I haven't set foot on the strip so far this trip and really didn't miss it at all. They are building so much and gentrifying downtown so fast it is really becoming where you want to stay. If you don't have kids try staying at the Circa as it was the first brand new high rise casino resort to open downtown in years when it opened last year. You could tell they spent a lot spare no detail plus the new competition caused most of the downtown casinos to remodel and refurbish everything in order to compete. Sadly, Binon's and 4Queens hasn't but virtually all the rest have. Lastly the arts district is about half a mile from Freemont Street and has a ton of locally owned restaurants and boutiques of very high quality with prices half that of the strip. You see a lot of locals dining out there.

We got home around 6:15pm, I15 was a mad house, we did get to try a few places along with way, an actual Bob's Big Boy for breakfast Friday morning, White Castle in Jean, some Alien Beef Jerkey, the Mad Greek's in Baker. After we got home I was to tired from driving and partying until 2am to do more but we picked up our pet cat from the kennel and cattery, got some birria tacos, bought me some wine, then watched Amazon Prime for a while. The youngest went to bed a couple of hours ago but we got him Oreos with milk and some Liet milk chocolate before he was sent off to brush his teeth and go to bed.

All in all a very nice weekend despite Semen's constant hate and rage. He sure does hate families enjoying themselves.

Hmm, I just got a call from some of my college friends who want to go to Vegas in May. It is literally the day after I got back from Vegas!

One interesting bit was when we stopped at Terrible's Casino and Road Stop in Jean, NV they had the original submarine car from the James Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me". Yes, it was a bit dated with a late 1970's Lotus Esprit but still kind of cool. In Prime, NV they had the original 1934 Ford Model A V-8 which Bonnie and Clyde were driving the day they were shot and killed in a hail of automatic and Semi-Automatic gun fire by FBI agents hunting the for interstate bank robbery.

Going again this weekend for my brother in law"s birthday. Apparently, he wants to go to dinner at the Wynn buffet. I told him Weds, Thurs, or Friday was better at the Wynn (lobster on Weds and Thurs with crab on Fri) but it is still a great buffet even without the crustaceans. Definitely, the best carvery section of any Vegas buffet. At $75 per person (half off for kids under 10) this is going to get expensive. Luckily there is always still Buffet in Asia for my lobster and crab fix. $23.95.

Ick! Resorts World is finally getting a buffet but they have said it will be strictly vegetarian. Who the fuck wants to go to Las Vegas to eat at a Vegetarian buffet? Just admit this is a cost savings measure.

It is even worse than expected. It is vegan and not just vegetarian plus the prices sucks at $48 when a vegetarian buffet isn't even worth $10. As usual vegan losers fill their buffet with fake meats because even they desire to eat the real thing. Just pathetic.

I just can’t imagine the baking desert being any type of an Oasis, or a vacation spot. I suppose the buffets, booze and gambling makes up for it for a few.

We are going for my brother in law's birthday as I previously said. Also, it is nice with everything being air-conditioning and having those spray misters. The pools are also quote nice.

I have to say the Korean fried chicken at Q's Korean Bistro in Chinatown looks amazing with the cheese and egg fondue. Not to mention all the different sauce options.

There are so many good options in Vegas 3specially off strip. I only just heard about John Cutter's Grill & Tavern but apparently it has been listed on the "Best of Vegas" list for years as the locals love it. It sounds like one of those only in Vegas sort of places because it is a butcher shop, bar, restaurant, and casino all in one. Weds & Sat they have their famous Steak & Lobster special for $19 while on Sunday's they have all their prime steakhouse steaks for 50% off. So get your U.S.D.A. Prime ribeye steak there on Sundays. Even their drinks menu looks pretty interesting plus as it is off strip in the west valley why not try your luck at the loose double diamond slot machines?

Supposedly the original double diamond slot machine is the least volatile slot machine in you can play in NV according to the state gaming commission.

Hmmm, we tried to get a spot for kitty in the local kennel and cattery but they were full. No room at all. It is kind of a pain to find another place because you have to have shot records sent directly from the vet to the cattery. I think we will just leave extra food, water, and pillows outside for kitty and he should be ok for two nights. We do have a dog door, I have seen kitty use it a few times but he seems not to like it.

Maybe this afternoon we will spend some time pushing him in and out of the dog door flap hoping he remembers and is able to get inside on his own. If not the weather is only in the 70's with a nightly low in the high 50's. He will have food & water both inside and out, it is his home territory so he is familiar with everything, and I am sure he will make himself at home on the covered patio with cushioned seats even if he can't remember to use to dog door.

A bigger worry is all the raccoons and possums eating his food outside. Those fuckers swarm the neighborhood as do coyotes but he should be safe inside our backyard given the brick walls plus there are tall trees for him to climb.
