Actually Lex @The Prowler I don't even own any bitcoin nor a bitcoin ETF. I bought 10 shares of HIVE technologies for about $4 each but lately its gone nowhere. seems like it was a waste of money.

...like how many kw did it take to 'mine' 1 bitcoin ? So the reality is its energy in and hot air out delivering no real measurable output or tangible asset. btc is a completely imaginary construct.

So apart from the cost of the computer gear/rig about the only concivable way to make it economical, is if a person can find a property with a river or stream running through it 365 days of the year 24/7. Then hook a turbine up to it to power the rig. The trick would be to find a river that never freezes up or dries up for any part of the year.

In a nutshell bitcoin can never be viable unless its backed by something like the US dollar which itself would have to be backed by Gold. Otherwise it will continue to be plagued with instability and massive price crashes.

I just surmised the only way to make it economical is to use an endless stream of energy like a waterfall to power it

But I question the wisdom of people who would spend $60 to $70,000 on a single btc when they could buy 8 oz of gold….and actually end up with something in their pockets

Seems the most viable way to build wealth with bitcoin was to buy it cheap, then use the profits to buy gold land or blue chip stocks. But that time appears to have passed

Actually you made a point about the volatility of gold. Btc also suffers from the same vulnerabilities. Buy too high & a buyer can get burned. Best to buy low so in the event the price drops even 50% a person can at least break even not lose their shirt.
