We've heard there have been some recent bobcat sightings in town. We just want to remind you that bobcats are not strangers to our community and generally are not a threat to people, but we do recommend bringing pets inside overnight just to be safe.

Unless an animal appears sick or injured, there is no need to call dispatch or the Department of Fish & Wildlife.

If you do happen to personally encounter a bobcat, we suggest the opposite of "pspspsps," or "here kitty kitty."

If you absolutely must use your words, at the very least consider addressing bobcats by their full name, Robert Feline. It's more polite, as well as a great way to show you are very serious. Consider adding its middle name should you wish to indicate it's in deep trouble.

Stay safe out there. Make good choices.
Call if you need us, we'll be here.

PS: Robert's middle (aka, Latin Scientific) name is Lynx Rufus, if you want to sound extra stern, e.g. "Robert Rufus Feline, get off my lawn!"
