You know well that "Palestine" was never the name of any country or nation in the Levant ever. There has never been an independent nation there since the Romans came through and subjugated the entire region before that Jesus guy was even born. The Romans called the place "Judea" after the Jews who lived there, and renamed the province "Palestina" when the Emperor Hadrian had to put down the third and final "Jewish Revolt" in the 2nd century AD. He renamed it Palestina because some Greek dude told him that was the name of the people who lived there before the Jews and Hadrian was entirely sick and tired of the fucking Jews at that point.
The entire region was the territory of one empire or another from Roman days right up until the end of WWI, when the British suddenly found themselves in control of it when the Ottoman Empire collapsed.
