Some people say that police officers don't get the respect they deserve. But you have to wonder why this is? Are the police doing something to provoke this decline in trust and respect? Abuse of power, maybe? Police brutality, maybe? Lying on police reports, maybe? Framing innocent people for crimes they haven't committed, maybe? Acting arrogant and cocky, maybe? etc.

civil asset forfeiture, maybe?

You know, charging property that the police suspect could be connected to a crime, but not charging the person of the property with any crime.

There are boatloads of videos and articles on police abusing their authority and rarely getting disciplined when committing serious crimes.

Why is it not a big deal to some people if there are "a few bad apples" as long as it's within a profession? Does it make it better if it's within a profession rather than freelance?

Insight into an AGW

"Here’s video coverage of an AGW who threatens to “put a bullet” in another driver in the course of a traffic altercation; the AGW – “off duty” – leaps out of his truck wearing cut-off shorts and (appropriately) a wife-beater T shirt and runs toward a car that he felt had made an improper turn. He screams and threatens to murder the driver."

in my radio ..
Of course the doctors aren't innocent either.

Did you ever see this video from almost a year ago?

"The Utah nurse who was roughly handcuffed for refusing to let police draw blood from an unconscious patient has agreed to a $500,000 settlement over the incident. Bodycam and hospital surveillance video show the July altercation when Detective Jeff Payne of the Salt Lake City Police Department showed up at the University of Utah Medical Center seeking to take a blood sample from an unconscious patient."

if the cop isn't allowed, he isn't .. does police have right to do so or are they not attested in the states?

They pretty much do as they please. Consequences be damned.
