Nope! There was some old dresser that's been down in the basement for the past 35 years. So I drug it up the stairs (and almost died...but thats another story. I was told not to do that alone but I dont listen for shit. I got it up though lol)

This is the third piece of old furniture I have redone. It took nearly 3 hours to wash it, with all the layers of gross basement filth that were on it. Then it took forever to get the old hardware off it. I got it sanded. I had to repair two of the draws and use some wood filler on one of the sides, my Squish primed it, and yesterday we got the first coat of paint on it.

Unfortunately it was a small container of paint and so I had to order a few more that wont be here until thursday. Im painting it a deep eggplant/aubergine color and replacing the knobs with vintage looking brass ones.

Here is a picture so far! It's far from done but my daughter wanted to see it with the knobs (she picked them)

So maybe just edge for a while and wait until the piece is actually finished because this is exactly how it looks when extensive filling, sanding, priming, sanding, first coat, sanding looks.

Barack was good too. Gruesome and evil.

When my first kid was born I was a removal man and any days where there no work on I used to go work at a friends furniture warehouse, All the old stuff he had that was in good nick he would sell as is but anything a bit beat up we would sand then prime, the either give one more coat and distress or give a couple more coats and not distress it.

He had a warehouse with hundreds of cabinets, wardrobes, chest of drawers, bedside tables etc...

We just worked our through them and flogged'em.

I havent done this in years. This is the 3rd piece of furniture I've redone. I did an end table and .....and old humidor stand.

Its like a stand with a drawer and then a door that opens to a copper lined area. It was made probably back in the 30s and used to be put in the living room or den to store cigars. I never saw one of those before.

I removed the gawdy decorations, sanded it down and painted it black and put some cool knobs on it and now it's in the bedroom storing all my organic waxes and essential oils lol.

There is another dresser downstairs my Squish wants me pull up and paint for her for her new bedroom here so I'll be doing that one next.
