I believe the term "Trump Derangement Syndrome" was coined by people who worked for Trump and coud not believe how deranged he was, but somehow it leaked out to the uneducated Trumpsters, and they gave the term an inaccurate meaning and spread it around, kind of like the pizzagate insanity.
