Hopefully he is correct but I suspect it will be much longer than he thinks. Russia sees this as an extension all threat to theor survival as a people. The demographics are so bad in Russia they know they can't defend themselves with their current borders as they just donate the manpower or budget. Thus they want to expand until they reach dependable geographic choke points.
Russia has had this strategy since Catherine the Great and Putin is still following that belief. That means Russia believes its very survival depends upon not just conquering Ukrain but also conquering many NATO countries further west.
