I had a cousin with kidney stones, I believe his were treated with an alternative method. I think it was non-surgical and the stones were pulverized somehow...

There's a treatment where they blast the stones with sound waves that breaks them down. I knew a guy that had it.

Knock on wood I've never had a kidney stone, but I hear they're absolutely awful.

Yes, very possible. I'm currently being very careful to stay hydrated and maintain adequate citrates, calcium, and other minerals in balance. The status of which is being monitored with various lab tests.
