Bran Castle is a Gothic fortress located atop a cliff in Transylvania. It is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Romania and is popularly known as Dracula’s Castle, as it is believed to have inspired Bram Stoker’s stories. While Bram never set foot inside this castle, the description in his book ‘Dracula’ resembles Bran Castle quite closely.
Bran Castle’s history dates back to the 14th century when it was built to protect Transylvania. Later, it acted as a customs point for entry into Wallachia. In 1920, Queen Marie received the fortress as a gift, who renovated it into this gorgeous castle. She loved spending time in this castle so much that she requested her heart to be buried beside it.

It's no wonder the Tower of London has such a haunting reputation. During the 17th century, it was used as a prison for those accused of treason and served as the site of many executions and torture.
In fact, some of the Tower's most famous residents include Anne Boleyn, the second wife of Henry VIII; and the "Nine-Day Queen" Lady Jane Grey. Both were beheaded on the Tower Green and buried in the chapel—it’s said their headless ghosts roam the halls to this very day. Gunpowder plotter Guy Fawkes is also said to haunt the Tower.
Waverly Hills was originally a two-story wooden building that was opened in 1910. However, the building you see today was constructed in 1926. It served as a tuberculosis hospital throughout the early to mid 20th century, when the disease was at its worst. It is believed that as many as 63,000 patients died there.
The death toll and the supposed mistreatment and questionable experimental procedures on patients are all recipes that may be behind one of the most haunted buildings in the whole of the US.
The Waverly Hills Sanatorium has built quite a reputation over the years as more and more people are allowed to investigate the premises. This has thrown up some incredible evidence over the years.
The native woodland of Hoia-Baciu in Romania is a place where the human imagination can run riot. A guided night tour is the perfect way to discover its otherworldly charms ‘They call this place the Bermuda Triangle of Transylvania,” says tour guide Marius Lazin, his breath expelling a procession of cotton-wool ghosts into the sharp evening air. “So many people have disappeared here, some say it’s a portal to another dimension.”
Marius is leading me on a night walk through what is often described as the world’s most haunted forest: Hoia-Baciu, a square mile of old-growth native woodland on the outskirts of the Romanian city of Cluj-Napoca. He’s been coming here three nights a week for the past 12 years, but even he looks a little uneasy as he arcs his torch like a searchlight against the knotted walls of elm and beech trees which embrace us on all sides, looking so thick that they might be the boundary of the known world.
Ham House is a beautiful mansion that has been around for over 400 years. Built in 1610, it is one of the finest examples of 17th-century architecture in England. However, the mansion has a dark and mysterious history, and it is said to be one of the most haunted places in London with reports of at least 15 different ghosts.
Mysterious footprint appears in the dust of the staircase and the upstairs floors when no one has walked there. There is a wheelchair in the house kept in one of the servants’ rooms at the top of the house that are said to move around and appear when no one intends to put it.
There are many ghostly legends surrounding Ham House. Some of the most famous include the ghost of Elizabeth Murray, Duchess of Lauderdale, the ghost of the Green Closet, and the ghost of the Lady in White. These ghosts are said to haunt the mansion to this day, and many visitors have reported seeing or hearing them.
