UPDATE: The Killer Wasn’t Who They Warned You About
A Minnesota lawmaker is dead.
Another barely escaped.
And the man behind it?
Not an “illegal immigrant.”
Not a drag queen.
Not a BLM protestor.
Not a trans kid.
Not a “woke socialist professor.”
It was Vance Luther Boelter a white Christian nationalist, Trump voter, preacher, and two-time appointee to Minnesota’s Workforce Development Board.
Boelter was first appointed in 2016 by Democratic Governor Mark Dayton, then reappointed by Governor Tim Walz.
He wasn’t an outsider.
He was trusted, credentialed, and camouflaged until he wasn’t.
What did he do?
Disguised himself in a latex mask and tactical police uniform
Drove a cop-style vehicle with emergency lights
Murdered Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband in their home
Attempted to break into Senator John Hoffman’s house
Carried a 70-name kill list, including:
Gov. Tim Walz
Rep. Ilhan Omar
Sen. Tina Smith
AG Keith Ellison
Abortion providers
Progressive activists
Elected Democrats across the state
And in his car?
A manifesto….
Christian nationalist dogma, far-right paranoia, MAGA grievance politics.
This wasn’t a random act of violence.
It was a political execution plan.
Boelter didn’t cross a border — he crossed a line.
He wasn’t waving a protest sign — he was impersonating law enforcement.
He wasn’t hiding in a migrant caravan — he was sitting on a state board.
He didn’t scream about CRT — he wrote a kill list.
But sure, keep banning pronouns.
Keep outlawing drag brunches.
Keep screaming about “DEI” and immigrant caravans.
That’ll stop the next one, right?
They told us to fear Pride parades.
College students.
Librarians.
Immigrants.
But the real danger was sitting in a pew, clutching a gun and a Bible, planning political assassinations in the name of “saving America.”
Because the biggest threat to democracy wasn’t a protester.
It was a MAGA preacher in a cop costume.
Stay loud.
Stay informed.
And yeah…. maybe check your neighbor’s trunk.
Cue the lachrymal remonstrance.
