In no fault states, you can divorce for any reason. Most states are like this. Some states require a reason like adultry, abandonment. You can still divorce.....its just expensive and takes a long time.

I'm my state if you share minor children, there is a 6 month waiting period where the friend of the court wants you to have a few counseling sessions and attend some presentation. It's about the impact of divorce on children.
