I always keep at least one can of cream of celery soup on hand, breadcrumbs, and there is usually at least one head of broccoli in the fridge at any one time, as well as kilo cheese block.

I keep my eyes out for half priced roasted chooks at the supermarket... if I get a hot one, straight to the casserole (with forementioned ingredients).... if I can score a few half priced chooks....I eat the wings immediately, then partition out the rest of the bird and freeze it in shallow layers, for a later casserole, burritos, or chicken salad sandwich at smokos....

It's cheap.... but effective.

I get a chicken then its 4 portions plus wings, the carcus goes in a pot with vegs n herbs to make about 6 chicken soup portions. so about 10 meals.
