Is Reaganomics starting to run out of steam?

The Reagan Revolution or Reaganomics was hailedin the 1980s and 90s as the saviour of the American economy. Low taxes for the rich, increases in productivity while the Middle Class subsidized them all these years.

But lately, this miracle appears to be sputtering. Massively high deficits. A disappearing Middle Class in America and other nations where there is an insufficient tax base to support the economies which promoted Reaganomics for the past 40 years. In fact the global economy might be on the brink of collapse.

Isn't it time to chuck out Reaganomics and reform the system? It's rather evident that NeoConservative economics is a sham to reinforce the power of the Elites.

Seems the rich have gotten theirs for the past 40 years and the system isn't working anymore.

Any thoughts?

The system is not working, but do not blame it on "Reaganomics".

USA moved most of its production to China and other parts of Asia. That was a mistake.

"an insufficient tax base to support the economies"

There is an insufficient tax base because the people who are working are underpaid. Get paid more, pay more taxes.

But even talking about things like "average salary" is stupid.

The entire system that was put in place decades before Ronald Reagan was born needs to be scrapped.

A complete redesign is the best solution.

We've had the greatest transfer of wealth in the last 40+ years from the middle and working classes to the obscenely wealthy.

There were 66 billionaires in the US in 1990, there were over 660 in 2020...this is not rocket science.

You people are looking at symptoms of the problem and not realizing the crux of the problem.

Such simple minds.

Even though none of you have even attempted to discuss solutions, I am sure it is beyond your abilities to imagine anything other than a temporary Band-aid "solution".

@The Prowler has previously stated that he only has an outdated 30 year old undergrad degree in computer programming which he erroneously believes provides him with expertise in economics theory. The reality is, he doesn't know any more about the topic than anyone else in this thread. Therefore he should stop this charade that his opinion is the final word. And as usual, he just makes rhertorical statments and doesn't even provide any real life examples to back his statements up.

A diploma or BSc in computer programming is not a Masters or PhD in biz or econ I'm afraid.

Yep, it's why I ignore him the vast majority of the time. He's a bald bloviating boob.

In any case, I provided data to support my statement.

Still not one original idea from these simpletons.

Senile Joe thinks that a degree in economics will help solve a problem that nobody has ever tackled.

Newsflash, Joe, you stooge, no university degree is going to teach you something that has never been encountered.

And braindead Lily wants a cookie for saying "Duh, there are more billionaires now. Duh."

It is 2023 and I just waiting for one of these idiots to mutter "Socialism."

Hahahaha!!!

Here's someone who probably more qualified you comment on the flaws or problems with Reaganomics:

Ray Dalio has an MBA from Harvard and has made billions with his hedge fund. He lives in the United States and has stated on numerous occasions that there is a serious wealth gap in his country. That the standard of living of the American worker hasn't risen since 1980.

Would you like to challenge his assumptions @The Prowler?

Are you better qualified than him to comment on the situation there?

Oh, but you have have an outdated 30 year diploma in computer programming where you studied obsolete programming languages and techniques. Oh and you live in a small hick town and it's the center of the universe, right? and that makes you the last word ... on everything!

LOL

Intellectually, he is a Chihuahua trying to control bigger dogs by the force of his "power"...he's doing nothing but yapping ineffectually.

Chihuahuas are a little annoying like that. They are all bark and furious with righteous anger. Most people laugh at them just as you did.

Good job!

So should I refer to him as Captain Obvious?

You people are not bright enough to understand the underlying problems.

Not one original idea from any of you. You just lap up whatever those in control tell you.

It is like watching sheep being led out to slaughter.

I do get a lot of entertainment value from you people.

Hahaha!!!!

I just watched that video.

Dude offers virtually nothing. Bipartisanship, education, and infrastructure.

Woah!!!

Cutting edge stuff.

A government that can effectively and efficiently make changes is obviously a benefit.

He is wrong about education for all.

Of course a healthy infrastructure is essential to a good standard of living.

So he is 2 for 3 and the 2 he got right make him worthy of his Captain Obvious title.

You people are such simpletons.
