This happened a little over 3 days ago. I was going to give poor Senile @Jack a break and not reveal it to all the people here. But earlier today I saw him accusing X of lying in the ShoutBox. That is pretty rich, coming from a proven liar.

I did that during covid. We used zoom and one of the players had mixing software.

I found a video of John McLaughlin doing that during covid and it was excellent.

That was a lie. I thought I would play along...

So when you played, did you hear the other instruments?

Just like if you were in the same room, playing to the same beat together?

Part of me wanted him to commit to it. I did not want him to say "Oh that is not what I meant..." or some other lame excuse after-the-fact.

But another part of me was just giving him a chance to tell the truth. Clear it up before the lie gets out of control.

yes. there was no delay that I recall. I had a light metronome and the pther players were using something as well. All the other instruments came thru the headphones in real time/

Well, he decided to go with the lie. An impossible lie. He was lying through his teeth and I knew it.

That is so weird.

I have been on many Zoom call and other VoIP calls and tried to count together 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4....and it never stays together because any slight delay will fuck it up.

I even tested that with a user here (Blazor) when he suggested that we could have a jam.

And I mean, I did it a lot of times....

Just a small delay will cause it all to be off....and a total mess.

But, hey, if you say it happened, then I totally believe you.

I am trying to be nice by giving him some understanding of why what he is claiming is impossible. I was in a generous mood, giving him multiple chances to back out of his lie.

I dont remember what we used. one of the band members had the software and everything had to be synced before we could play together. That took a couple hours, everything was off at first. The guy who ran everything had to set it up first. We used our laptops and headphones after everything was synced and it was pretty seamless after he figured it out. There were a couple of times where we were playing when stuff fell out of sync and then we had to stop and start over.

He tries to make the lie more elaborate. It is pathetic.

So I told him he is full of shit....

So he tries to back down....

whatever you say boss.

But, no. I do not like people lying to me. Now you gotta admit it, you lying fuck.

So I do not let it go....

It is just a fact.

You can setup a Zoom call if you would like and we can all join to demonstrate what I said.

We do not even have to try to play instruments....just try to count together.....it would sound like this....

Jack is fucked now. But is he smart enough to realize it?

Nope.

Whatever you say, boss. we didnt use Zoom.

I think he used Squadcast or Zencaster. It was years ago and I didnt do the studio stuff. I was just a player.

That stupid fuck now says "we didnt use Zoom" when earlier on he said "We used zoom".

He thinks that if he names some other software, it will somehow change the fact that there is always at least a slight delay over the Internet.

Jack, you are a proven liar.

Jack, this is your chance to come clean: Why did you lie, Jack?

Far from yup!
The biggest thing that stands out is that @Jack NEVER really knows the technical details of anything, like here for example...he never even mentions any of the equipment or software he uses.

Things needed to jam online...

"To jam with others online, you need a stable internet connection, an audio interface or USB microphone to capture your instrument or voice, and high-quality headphones (preferably wired IEMs) to avoid latency and monitor the audio. You will also need a computer with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) or specific software for real-time collaboration like Lutefish or Sonobus to send and receive audio with your bandmates."
