Alright, I'm calling Phillies and Blue Jays to duke it out for the world enchilada. Blue Jays in 6 games. Book it.

Wild card games start today. This is the real baseball season.

So how fucked up is the division/playoff scheduling in MLB?
. 4 teams remain, and the two with the best record, from the best division, play one another while the 3rd and fourth best remaining play one another. Seems like the 2 best teams aught to have the easiest path.

Well, the Brewers/Phillies in the NL and the Blue Jays/Mariners had the first round bye. I think its a fair system.

You see, it starts right there, with the divisions.
. I can understand divisions in football because there aren't enough games to play every team even once.
..but baseball you can play every team in your league 10 times.
If you want a playoff system which is nonsense to begin with, then the top 2 or 4 can play under the usual protocols. Why a team that is probably the 4th best overall should get a bye is mysterious.

I did read an article a few months ago that said MLB is looking to add two more franchises to the league and with 32 teams, they'll likely realign the divisions into 4 four team divisions in each league. Exactly like what the NFL is now. The playoff system with eight total divisions would be the division champions and the second place team would advance to the playoffs and likely be seeded from 1 to 8.

Screw divisions.
...and travel should be by bus.
Let's see how many HRs these preening posers hit then.

PS: and they should make no more than double the national average. They can always go back to their bagboy jobs in the off season.

4 inning and the Blue Jays are demolishing the Yankees 9-0. Vladimir Guerrero just knocked in a grand slam.

Certainly looks like a West Coast series is a strong possibility.

Dodgers win game 2 on road, 5-1 and lead series 2-0, going back home to play in LA

Mariners lead series 2-0...
