I'm not big on Reubens, but in a pinch they can be awesome.
I'd try it. Your corned beef looks different to ours, here it comes in a tin and is cheap and nasty

Yeah, that canned corn beef would not be good on it.

I like to grill my Reubens...on a light rye bread....and I use pastrami or Montreal smoked meat too....whatever is around...and I use Thousand Island dressing because that is what you get around here....there is a Russian dressing around here by Kraft that is not really a Russian dressing...if you look at Russian dressing recipes, it is just like what we call Thousand Island dressing.

I know how I like them now so I make my own. When I get them in a restaurant they are rarely as good as I make them (for my own taste, I mean), but they are still good. Sometimes I say to my wife "This is a good sandwich, just not a good Reuben."

No. I think it is beef brisket...but it is smoked and cured.

I think it is the same stuff as you get in a can....kinda like Spam is the same as ham, though.

It’s moar processed meAT, loaded with nitrates, horrible stuff

Yeah it is smoked and has curing salt....or sodium nitrate.

Probably not something you want to eat more than a few times a month...

I buy the no nitrate cold cuts, cost more but you don’t buy much because it doesn’t last long, no preservatives

When I used to eat sandwiches, I made them with deli turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, vinegar. 7 grain bread or whatever it was. And we all used to go to Bay Cities, this Italian deli in Santa Monica. I got tuna sandwiches there.

I also got The Godmother there.

I have cut waaaaaaaaaay back on bread, and now have only one piece of bakery-made sourdough bread a day. No more sandwiches. Which is sad. But, honestly, Portuguese sandwiches are not that good.

Ahhh the spicy Godmother xoxox

We've established here that reubens have tinned corned beef in it. Next you'll be telling us that Greeks do the best toasties because they use luncheon meat, or Scots do the best fritters because you love the spam. Stfd and have a proper english sarnie before eating your hat. No authority whatsoever

Drag me? :LOL3: wouldn't you have to be able to balance on your own 2 feet first? Please return when you've sobered up and come through the hangover, we'll dance then, luncheon meat
