It's kinda weird. I'm trying to figure out what to do with it.

Here is from the door looking in

My gross, dated, YELLOW tub with shower. This thing is like....in the corner at an angle. I need to change all that but I'm not sure how. The angle is very strange.

The rest of the area by the sink....there is a big chunky closet there that I hate

I pretty much have to redo this entire room.

Any ideas? What would you guys do to it? And how to I get rid of that weird corner?

And yes...before anyone says anything, I KNOW there are tons of products. Between me and my teens there is enough but I use shampoo bars and stuff....my mother has a TON of shit, some of it long expired, that she refuses to part with even though she doesnt use it. It's a work in progress. I try to keep most all of her hoard on that giant built in shelf lol.

Dovey. I think after you remove everything, it will be easier to plan. Looks like there is plenty of space.

True but it's the only bathroom. So I'm trying to get ideas because when we tear all this out we are going to have to rent a room or stay in the camper. Or just use the bathroom in the camper.

Probably rent a room lol

I would just leave it "as is".

I go to the bathroom to shit, shower, and shave. If the toilet, shower, and sink work, I am happy.

But I know women and feminine men are into modern looking bathrooms.

BTW, consider the environmental impact of "renovations". I have liberal friends and family that always talk a good game about how they are environmentally conscious, but they renovate their 3000+ square foot homes every couple of years, tearing out perfectly good building materials and replacing them with brand new stuff. The environmental impact has to be significant.

Yeah this all old in here and not functioning well....its a 1985 mobile home bathroom that hasnt had any work. There is mold and all the insulation needs replacing and the sink and stuff is falling apart underneath....its a mess. It needs gutting. I just keep things clean.

There is not much in here I could salvage besides some of the subfloor.

I'm definately using as much reclaimed materials as possible. If I can only figure what to do in this room, I can have all the plumbing set up how I want it when I replace all the plumbing. And I need to have it ready to accommodate my mother as she gets older and declines more.

Ahhh, it sounds like it needs a major reno.

I agree with this. There are a lot of corner show/bath units out there. You will find one that works. Lining up the drain pipe in a mobile home will be easier than in a house if they need to move it a bit.

Put in some handle bars for your mom to hold onto. Maybe one of those extra high toilets. Remember to put in high-powered fans. Old people can have massive dumps.

I do have my eyes on energy/water efficient appliances(is a toilet an appliance?). I just need to make sure I dont spend extra for some green washed bullshit.

I'm thinking about making it like one of those "wet room" bathrooms and have just a stand up shower....maybe also a tub if it can fit.

We may build on another, smaller bathroom in the future though. We will see how goes building on another bedroom(we already have a door....just a random door that leads outside, we wanna build a bedroom on it)

Yeah, there are toilets that use very little water for each flush. All of mine are like that, but only one of them has the option for the even less water flush for when you only pee.

I do not think there is much else in the bathroom that you can make "green".

I would suggest pressure balanced valves in the bathtub/shower if that is not standard in your area. They make it so that if someone uses the cold water tap somewhere, the water will not all of a sudden get hot.

I did replace the water heater months ago. It cost about 1400.....800 for the heater and the rest was labor and other charges. Things are different if it's a mobile house....its either more money or less money than doing it in a stick built house. We did it fast because it wasnt working at all when we moved in, even after changing the elements and getting debris out.

But then I started reading about tankless water heaters, so....even though I already replaced this one, I do REALLY want to get some tankless ones. I can have a separate one just for the bathroom and one just for laundry. Which would be perfect for everyone.

That's not a huge priority right now, though. We are not gonna be doing that until after we have all the walls and sub floors replaced.
