What's happening in court is not about this. He's doing it illegally and it's NOT impoundment. That occurs during HIS budget. Not for last years appropriations. As the wiki article mentions clearly, that right was removed after Nixon. Nice try.

Stop already.

That would be the way to resolve it.

In complete agreement.
I see merit in that challenge, too. The Impoundment authority is a Constitutionally-enumerated power vested in POTUS. The ICA came into effect because Nixon was using that authority 'too often'. But the ICA, to be fully legitimized, should have come in the form of a Constitutional amendment, IMO.

It most certainly is, unless you know something the rest of us are missing? Once approved by Congress those are appropriated funds. That's the oversight, during the debate and voting.

That's why there's a separation of powers. Trump doesn't get to go back to the previous congress and say, "Im freezing what you did"

It doesn't work that way.
An appropriated fund is a law, it’s equivalent to a law that says top secret documents are not to be waved around and shown off to your drinking buddies

But the good news is we finally have a president with the strength and courage to say fuck laws, customs and decorum ‘I do what I want!’

Impoundment must be proven. He cant just wave his wand and proclaim impoundment. Doesn't work that way. If he wants to play at being President he's going to have to follow the rules, not make them up as he sees fit.

I already know this game. So does he.
That's the problem with Trump. Even if SCOTUS orders the administration to do x or y, he can defy them. They have no enforcement power beyond the norms in our country where past presidents played by the rules.
