I think I've said a few times that it's not approved as a treatment for Covid by any governments because there just isnt enough data to support that.
That does not mean absolutely no doctors are using it in early/mild covid infections.
What part of my statement is confusing? And WHY is this such a political thing for you? You are literally treating this topic like its some partisan platform and that medicine is handled by government and doctors dont actually practice medicine, they just follow gov orders.
Anyway here is this part(a few parts were just bad info, claiming ivermectin isnt 100 percent safe and acting like there isnt adequate safety info on the drug is false and misleading. There isnt a single pharmaceutical on the planet that is 100 percent safe. None of is 100 percent safe....literally nothing a doctor does is free of risk. Kinda odd to have that position if no one is getting and taking ivermectin. Its definately not over the counter. If you have it, it's because a doctor gave it to you.
They havent approved it is as treatment for Covid, and they "warn" against it because evidently they dont have the same info on this pharmaceutical that has been on the W.H.Os list of essential meds for a few decades. But that doesnt mean doctors are not giving it to anyone.
You guys really need to try to remove your political biases from this topic. Most treatment advancements were discovered via off label use of already existing meds. Its fucked up how fast you guys decide a med is garbage because your media slammed it and told you to associate it with your political opposition.

It's ridiculous how US dems/progs approach this, isnt it? And how they talk about "the science" as if science is some bible and not a process. Science is a tool, a process. Medicine is constantly changing. That's why it's called a "practice".
I've watched them slam possible treatments on the basis that "there isnt enough data, so that shouldnt be used"
Like are they insane? It's a novel virus....its only been infecting humans for a few years. Nothing has a ton of data yet. We get that data by using the meds.
We should be using every single possible treatment. Politcs are just hateful and have no regard for humanity and have no compassion. People with a political motive wont admit when they are wrong even. It just doesnt belong in medicine. A lot of harm is done when politcs enmeshes with anything medical.
When my mother in law was given ivermectin....AND the hydroxy combo....along with a bunch of vitamins and supplements, her doctor explained to her that it wasnt yet well established that it works. So she knew that. Doctors will tell you this when they offer it to you. You are free to reject it. She was also given monoclonal antibodies.
What these partisan hacks do not understand about medicine and treating sick and frightened people is the humanity. Why wouldnt you offer something that has good and established safety data(that is safe for that patient) and MAY help?
With everything else, doctors will often give meds and shift them around until they find the right combo and dosage of meds for THAT patient. And they use off label all the time. Like the use of atarax for anxiety when it's a anti histamine....or the use of viagra for erectile dysfunction when it's a cardiac med.
But all of a sudden medicine is now partisan and these people have ignorant and partisan expectations about meds. Dems/progs will slam a med way too soon because of their media and than as a result others on the other end decide that med must be a miracle "cure" for Covid and will only go for that if they get sick.
Its fucking ridiculous. All the same people yammering about "teh right" not listening to "experts" are the same people that will post leftwing opinion articles that are every bit as garbage as any right wing one claiming the opposite. I wonder how many people made their treatment decisions based on politcs and refused meds because of it.
I would bet even the most leftiest dem/prog would take the iver if they were diagnosed and offered it and still slam it on the internet. They are that level assholes.

I suppose like here in the States any drug on the market can be used to treat any ailment, but that does not mean that it is widely (routinely) used, simply because some people prescribe/treat with it, or self medicate using it. I suppose one might say Fish Tablet Hydroxychloroquine, and orally administered bleach are also routinely used, just not in any reputable medical setting.
..and as far as I'm concerned people are free to experiment with and in their own bodies as they choose.
I am a proponent of physicians healing themselves, not that one can not recount stories of researchers gulping down Cobalt solutions and killing themselves outright.

If true, that MSc makes him more qualified to discuss how chemicals and other compounds interact with human physiology than the vast majority of Medical Doctors. People like him do the research and they share the appropriate results with Medical Doctors who simply apply the knowledge when treating patients.
Medical Doctors do not do low-level research; that is not their area of expertise nor is it in their job description. (It is part of the reason I chuckled when I read the first post in this thread. People are so fuckin' clueless.)
I can give you analogies if you need. An electrical engineer who designs electric guitar pickups might not be able to play guitar, but he has a much deeper understanding of why certain pickups sound a certain way than a great guitarist (who is not an electrical engineer).

The real problem is that CA wont loosen its restrictions so even though covid is going endemic and the variant spreading is omicron and NOT serious, they are still forcing people to take time off work that they cannot afford.
And they just now started offering free home tests.
They could just have people stay home if they are actually sick and otherwise take precautions. Like we have always done with any other virus.
