Another violent death shakes the Recoleta neighborhood in the city of Buenos Aires : a strong argument inside a hair salon between two employees led to oneHe pulled out a gun and shot his co-worker in the head.
The 33-year-old victim died in the hospital, the 43-year-old murderer fled and police forces are still searching for him.
The homicide occurred on Wednesday afternoon in a hair salon named “Verdini” located at 3000 Beruti Street , almost on the corner with Austria. City Police officers went there after a call to 911 from a person who reported what had happened.
As LA NACION learned from police sources, once at the scene, the agents found the victim identified as Gabriel Medina with cardiorespiratory arrest. He was immediately transferred to the Fernández Hospital where, despite his efforts, he died. The young man had been working at the hair salon for a year as a colorist.
“ The patient was in serious condition and we had transferred him with cardiorespiratory arrest . He continued with the maneuvers in the Fernández shock room trying to reverse the situation, but unfortunately he died,” explained the head of SAME, Alberto Crescenti , in television statements. In that sense, the doctor stressed that the severity of the wound - “a shot to the head” - left little chance of saving his life despite the efforts made.
The sequence would have started with an argument in the hair salon once the place closed to the public. There, as indicated to this medium, the victim, the perpetrator and three other people (a woman and two men) stayed “having drinks” until a strong argument occurred that led to the tragic end.
From one moment to the next, the attacker - who has not yet been arrested, but was identified as Luis Abel Guzmán , 43 years old - took out a firearm from among his clothes and shot Medina in the head. He subsequently fled the crime scene by escaping through the window. According to him, Guzmán had worked there for a decade as the right-hand man of the owner Facundo Verdini , the owner of the hair salon chain

Derrick Gant, who went by the stage name "Phat Geez" and worked with Meek Mill, was shot and killed outside his home in Philly
A man, identified on his social media page as a Philly rapper who worked with hip hop star Meek Mill, was shot and killed outside of his home over the weekend, police said.
Police responded to a report of a person with a gun on Sunday, March 17, on the 1200 block of North Taney Street. When they arrived, they found the body of a man, later identified as 28-year-old Derrick Gant, on the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Gant was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 p.m.
Gant was a hip hop artist who went by the stage name “Phat Geez,” according to his Facebook page. He recently released the song “No Gunzone” which called for peace in Philadelphia.
Several listeners shared messages of condolences on Gant’s YouTube and Instagram pages. Philadelphia hip hop star Meek Mill – who collaborated with Phat Geez in the past – also released a statement on his death on X, formerly known as Twitter.
A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in Gant’s murder.

The crook was walking behind the victim when she headed up the steps to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Briarwood about 8:20 a.m. Sunday, cops said. The holy site has a service that begins at 8:30 a.m.
Video shows the man creeping up behind her and quickly climbing the steps next to her.
He got in front of the woman and punched her in the face, sending her tumbling back down the stairs on 152nd St. near 84th Drive.
The robber snatched the woman’s purse, which contained $300 and her cell phone, credit cards and car keys, before driving off in her 2006 Nissan Altima. He has not been caught.
The woman is a member of the church and was on her way into services when the robber targeted her, according to Father Konstantinos Kalogridis, head priest at the church.
Medics rushed the victim in critical condition to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Queens.
