I'm aware of all the accolades and the fanfare around it, including the author.

My guy was watching it for awhile and got burned out on the gratuitous violence. The story line wasn't enough to keep him interested so I thought it might do the same for me.

I tend to finish very few series, I get bored with the formula after awhile.
