N95's need only last for hours of use. Most people aren't supposed to be out and about for hours. We should only go out to conduct important matters. This isn't the time to pretend everything is normal. If you go out for groceries, you needn't be out all day.
I have things delivered. It's worth it to me because for a few bucks I can even get my cat food delivered now.
Back to masks, something is better than nothing. People should stop focusing only on themselves and see this as a community problem. The sooner we do things for others, we help ourselves as well.
We simply disagree on this. A standard paper mask doesnt protect other than to stop a direct projection of sputum from a cough. Even in that case, a large portion of the spray of sputum is directed around/through the mask gaps from a cough. IF everyone was issued valveless N95's and they were used ONCE and then discarded, THEN you would have protection.
Yeah, we can disagree. It doesn't make you right though.
No, but the part about paper masks didnt originate from me, it came from someone in the medical field.
And I'm telling you from a public health perspective, that anything you can do to reduce your risk is better than doing nothing at all.
Does it guarantee that you won't get covid? Of course not. But the general public could be helped. A doctor, nurse or other clinical personnel are dealing with different set of circumstances. They're not at the grocery store or pharmacy for a short stint.
They are getting exposed for hours on end with people that we all KNOW are actually sick. It's why they are getting the vaccine first.
Comparing apples to oranges is useless.
