It's going to be worse. The disastrous Bush era set the stage for this even more disastrous administration.

I think one of Trump's big miscalculations was his tariff plans & bullying would unite America's traditional allies & in particular against China. But he did it all wrong @LotusBud . He went after Canada & the EU first now they turned against him. Turned out these aren't really individual countries but alliances. Sure Canada, France, Britain & Germany can't stand up to Trump alone but together they are a powerful credible political and economic alliance. So when Trump attacks Canada, their Prime Minister calls up his allies in Europe and the Global Banking Industry to back him. So Trump looks foolish when all the White Men in these 1st world countries stand up to him because he's dealing with with a powerful elite and the interests they represent.

For example Trump had to pause tariffs because Carney and all the world bankers threatened to implode the bond market. Of course Trump didn't want to but he had to. All these White Men in 1st world nations called his bluff so that was a setback for Trump.

I've noticed how combattive Trump is with China & the 'brown nations' but suddenly he backs down & becomes sheepish when his peers - the White leaders in Europe & Canada stand up to him.

Trump is racist through & through but he doesn't like to look foolish in front of his peers/equals. Be it Mark Carney, Kier Starmer, Schulz, or Macron. Its akin to a bully in the playground who is aware that there is a rival gang in the playground just as strong and powerful as him.

At least Biden realized this and even retained some of Trump's America First policies. Trump should have just left them alone with some minor tweaking at best.

I thought Biden was already placing protectionist policies on China such as banning Tik Tok or blocking the sale of US Steel to Japan

Trump is a stupid asshole.

Some notable mistakes of his include:

1. Closing down the Department of Education. Instead of scuttling it he should have reformed it. Such as emphasizing technology trades engineering. Trump claims it was a woke agency but then he's disbursing funds to states like Oklahoma that will fund Bible study classes. That's no better than the woke culture it replaced. Same thing but in reverse

2. Launching a trade war against allies instead of strengthening alliances with Canada Europe and Japan against China. So that will leave the USA standing alone instead of with partners

3. Bringing back the wrong kinds of manufacturing jobs. Instead of reshoring low skilled jobs he should be investing in higher skilled ones that could produce bigger profits in the long run. But those require higher education and retraining. Whoops, Trump cut the education budget. Oh well.

4. Giving excessive tax breaks to billionaires who don't need them. Should have doubled their taxes but offered incentivized tax breaks as a tradeoff. Invest more in jobs infrastructure social services give them tax breaks in return.

I can see where the Trump administration is headed leading the US down the wrong path with mal investments. The debt levels and poverty rates will soar during his administration.
