the demolition phase didn’t require approval — a distinction that’s a bit like saying the fire doesn’t start until the roof caves in.

In any other administration, this would be a scandal. In Trump’s case, it’s a governing principle.

Most of the renivations were maintenance to HVAC system and IT upgrades...which had to be done.

A ballroom isn't a necessity.
Incorrect! He did much more than that! Added basketball courts and renovated many areas!! Other changes included renovating the South Portico porch and West Wing lobby, and adding basketball lines to the tennis court. The State Dining Room was also refurbished under Michelle Obama's supervision

That was the bulk of the renovations...simple fact.

OH MY GOD, FACTS!

Let's toss a little education at this Russian paid asset Benny Johnson

1. Theodore Roosevelt’s West Wing (1902)
Was approved and funded by Congress.

Congress passed an appropriations bill authorizing $65,000 for Roosevelt's major White House renovation in 1902.

2. Taft’s Oval Office (1909)
Was approved and funded by Congress.

In 1909, Congress passed an appropriations bill on Taft's inauguration day authorizing $40,000 for the expansion of Roosevelt’s West Wing and added the first Oval Office.

3. FDR’s East Wing and Private Pool (1933–1942)
Was approved and funded by Congress.

Franklin D. Roosevelt administration's expansion of the White House East Wing in 1942 was a wartime construction project that went through proper federal channels since it altered the structure of the White House.

Construction was authorized and funded through existing appropriations tied to wartime security and defense spending. The primary reason for the expansion was to cover the construction of an underground presidential bunker, which became the Presidential Emergency Operations Center (PEOC), during World War II.

FDR's swimming pool, built in 1933 inside the West Terrace, was built with PRIVATE DONATIONS to help FDR’s therapy for polio. It didn’t need or get Congressional or National Capital Planning Commission approval because it wasn’t taxpayer-funded.

4. Truman’s Full White House Rebuild (1948–1952)
Was approved and funded by Congress.

Congress formally approved the complete gutting and reconstruction of the White House after engineers deemed it structurally unsound.

In April 14, 1949, Congress passed Public Law 40 (of the 81st Congress) entitled - "An Act to provide for a Commission on Renovation of the Executive Mansion" - which authorized and provided Truman with 5.4 million which ultimately gutted and rebuilt the interior of the White House.

Public Law 40 also established a six-member Commission on the Renovation of the Executive Mansion (CREM), which had the authority to supervise the entire project.

The National Capital Planning Commission was also consulted and involved in design oversight.

5. Nixon’s Bowling Alley (1969)

This was funded by PRIVATE DONATIONS and installed below the North Portico; therefore, no Congressional or National Capital Planning Commission approval was needed since it didn’t alter the White House’s external structure or use federal funds.

6. Obama’s Basketball Court (2009)
This was a small-scale, recreational project within the grounds’ EXISTING footprint. It merely converted an existing tennis court into a basketball court with removable basketball goals.

Therefore, no formal Congressional or National Capital Planning Commission approval was required.

7. Trump's Ballroom (2025)

This has NOT been formally approved by Congress, nor by the National Capital Planning Commission.

Therefore, IT VIOLATES FEDERAL LAW.

The next Democratic Presidential candidate should promise to tear down Trump shitty ballroom & any profits he receives from it seized & given back to the American people @LotusBud.

I would also indict Trump for breaking the law and sue him him for $100 billion or his entire assets as a suitable fine for his criminal act.

If this happened in this other countries Trump would be thrown in prison

Just like the Taliban did to the Bagiyan statues in Afghanistan

Plus nobody has mentioned the potential security problems of this oversized warehouse.

Itll give potential assassins and terrorists more room to hide.

A logistical security nightmare which will cost million/billions for future administrations to address.

Oh and the bill will be ginormous for American taxpayers.

But of course Trump doesn't mention that.
