Over here they said some waves can be up to three feet but we are half a world away. I remember just last week watching a video about this island, it was just two small highly eroded islands until 2014 when an eruption went off and joined the two islands. I saw another youtube video from a few months ago where people sailed out to the island and filmed the new land.

I'm reminded of the White Island eruption, which was an interesting documentary for me to watch. I doubt most people outside of NZ/OZ have even heard of it...

I went over to a remote surf location in Nias, Indonesia in 2018. Because of earth quakes a few years prior, new unridden reefs were created when parts of the ocean bed thrust upwards. It was awesome.
