I wonder who else here is in music group/ensembles.

@Reggie_Essent , I know you play guitar. Do you play in a group?

@Jack , you claim to be a drummer. Do you play in a music ensemble?

@Joe , you useless fuck, of course you are not in a group.

I play in a couple cover bands (trap set), a jazz ensemble (vibraphone and trap set) an orchestra (tympani, vibraphone and multiple percussion) and a sound bath (udu drum, djembe, chimes, tuning forks, kalimba, crystal singing bowls, and tibetan brass bowls)

I play out two or three times a month.

I used to sit in with a bunch of bluegrass pickers. Never gigged for money, though I was called up to play harmonica a few times at blue bars were guys I know were gigging for money. Assholes never slipped me a few bills for my time and talent.

I used to sit in with a bunch of bluegrass pickers.

I have done those big-group jams. I find they are good to meet people, but the ones that I have been in are just a "wall of music" and it is just one big strumfest and the lead riffs are drowned out.

I bet with bluegrass pickers they know to lower the volume and let the lead player be heard.

Never gigged for money

I only started after Covid. I played so much with one guy over Covid that we got good enough to perform, so we do.

Now I am in a couple full-blown bans too, so I do some paid gigs with them. But it is not a lot of money!!

That kind of stuff is fun. I have been called up from the audience by a few guys I know to play a few songs a few different times. No cash me for at those times either!

But I know they are not making much....

Bluegrass pickers are a different breed. When a good jam got going, the tradition is to do a round robin type thing to let each participant have a few bars to improvise a lead bit. It was always fun.

Post one recording, @Jack

You have been caught in so many lies and this is your chance to prove that you sometimes tell the truth.
