I just don't see how Putin can keep this war going. At this rate it looks like it will turn into another drawn out conflict costing Russia billions of dollars. And the average citizen wasn't doing very well to begin with. Many malnourished & poor. This war will just make them poorer.
This isn't 100 years ago. Most Russians can read & write. However limited their knowledge is of the outside world they know the West is better off than them. In the day of the Internet they get news & text messages from other places.
But the clincher seems that if the Russian people begin to starve & the Oligarchs who supported Putin lose lotsa money then a revolt can't be too far off.

He can't not keep going or he will look like a weak failure which is not an option for his ego. Putin will take the major cities. He will bomb them to dust even though that is illegal and a war crime but he has gotten away doing such three times before so he will no doubt do it a fourth time. The vast bulk of Russian forces are poorly lead, poorly equipped, and poorly trained but they use numbers and mass to compensate.

You don't seem to know what a democracy is because Russia under Putin is very much an absolute dictatorship. No, keeping some of the trappings of democracy like rigged fake elections and a controlled and compromised opposition do not make it a democracy.

They have an election coming up in 2024. Putin was re-elected in 2018.
The Globalist-controlled MSM have to make people think Putin is this evil dictator so they have support when they take action against the anti-globalist Russia. Even the recent reporting they are careful to almost always say "Putin" and not "Russia" because they have worked so hard to make people hate and fear Putin. Much easier than getting everyone to hate an entire nation, like the old days when we all hated Russia and USSR because it was communist.
