That is just a bunch of double speak to try to justify the conquest of a new Russian empite. It won't work and will result in the immiseration of the Russian people yet again.
Actually...what other option would Russia have, than to be pulled into China's orbit & become a vassal state of theirs? With many of their trade ties cut off, that's the only ones they can turn to now.
So...China will end up buying Russian natural resources to fill the void?
Certainly won't be the West anymore.
He will try to sell more to China but the CCP will drive a hard bargain and won't be paying a price premium for Russian gas the way the EU was. It will cost tens of billions to build new pipelines, roads, etc... And money is going to be in much less supply in Moscow. Russia's economy is very dependent on imports but that may not be possible now so there will shortages of all kinds and a big economic drop off similar to the depression. Remember, the average Russian only made $500-$600 a month before all of this so the regular people are going to get squeezed especially hard.
I know Putin has been cozying up to the Taliban offering them help in creating a totalitarian state aligned towards Russia. Putin also wants to build oil and gas pipelines from central Asia to India and Pakistan via Afghanistan and if he can pull that off that would be a new massive market for him as well. I wonder how it could go ahead now though given all the sanctions.
