Hey guys. I decided that I want to put out the statistical truth about the lies you are seeing coming out of the MAGA Republican Party. Let me say this, you can be mad at me all you want, but at the end of the day, you have a choice once you are provided with the statistical truth. You can roll on believing what far right wing media outlets try to scare you into believing, or you can change.
Let’s begin.
1: “The left is going to take your child and mutilated them and force them to have transgender surgery!” -Donald Trump
The Truth: ZERO gender affirming surgeries for minors under the age of 13 have been performed. Zero. 0.1 per 100,000 minors for the ages of 13-14 have been performed. And 2.1 gender affirming surgeries per 100,000 minors have been performed on minors of the ages between 15-17. Here’s the real important part, 97% of all of these gender affirming surgeries were performed on cisgender males who were being treated for gynecomastia. The average annual number of child marriages in the U.S. however is 14,300. Of these underage minors getting married, 86% of these are young females marrying adult men.
2: “Islam is taking over America! We are being invaded!”
The Truth: 1% of Americans are Muslim. 65% of Americans consider themselves Christians.
3: “Undocumented Immigrants are violent and are mostly rapists!”
The Truth: Undocumented immigrants have lower arrest and conviction rate for violent crimes such as assault, sexual assault, and homicide than native-born U.S. citizens.
4: “The communists are taking over!”
The Truth: There is not a single mainstream candidate currently running who identifies as or supports communism. The trick is the mags Republican Party is using the term communism as a fear tactic to label democratic socialists. Democratic socialist policies have saved the U.S. economy under FDR, Bush Jr, and under Joe Biden.
5: “Men in women’s sports is a big deal!” Over the over 500,000 women competing in sports under the NCAA, less than 10 are transgender. That is 0.002% of these competitors. Major studies have found that transgender women performed worse than cisgender women in lower body strength, lung function, and their bone density was equivalent to cisgender women. The study also showed that there are no meaningful differences between transgender and cisgender hemoglobin profiles.
7: Election security: “these election are rigged!”
The truth: In the last 26 years there have been less than 500 cases of potential voter fraud. There have been over 980,000,000 ballots cast in the last 26 years. That is 0.00000013%. And of those 500 fraudulent votes, 400 came from a system error and they voted for all different political parties. This proves it was not an intentional voter fraud attempt.
Lastly, we need to stop allowing ourselves to be controlled by fear. The only things that are certain in this life are that you were born, you live a life, and everyone dies at some point. Stop allowing fear to cause you to chase false senses of security from people lying to you and who want you to hate anyone who does not look, talk, or believe exactly the same as you. The world is full of great people as well. Many who love to share their life experiences with others. If we want to adress real issues, that you should be concerned about, start looking at the things that really matter.
