Ukraine was never getting back Crimea; that was known even before the current conflict.
Independence with security guarantees for the Donbass was on the table at the start of the proxy war but Ukraine (NATO) rejected that provision so now it's never getting that back either.
Russia's winning the war. Has, in fact, won the war for all practical purposes.
That's simply a fact.
Ukraine allowed itself to become NATO's dupe and sacrificed a generation of its young men for the USA's hegemonic ambitions. It sucks but hey... play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
The victorious side of a war gets to set the terms for peace; not the losers.
