The Algarve is the least Portuguese part of Portugal. It is overrun by the English, and it's not very pleasant. The beaches are abolutely stunning, but the rest, well, it's a touristic paradise.

Lisbon is not a shithole at all. It is just very, very busy, and the streets are narrow and lots of one way streets, and roundabouts and it's very big, etc.

EvorA and Monsaraz are worth a visit. The |Silver Coast. Up to the Northern border with Spain. I, personally, would not bother with the Algarve.

we were looking at some pof those places. we take one trip a year. My daughter in SC is begging me to visit, but I might go to Portugal instead

Portugal is a stunning country and completely worth a trip. After 5 and a half years here, there are still places I want to visit and places I would happily return to again and again.

We went to these cave recently. 45 minutes away.
