Wood is subject to dry rot, Termite infestation, earth quakes, heavy wind and storms, flooding, and FIRES. I believe concrete block is a much better way to build, re enforced with rebar. No true Lily. My house survived a 7.6 earthquake, and a few smaller ones. It’s not about stacking block. It’s about the rebar within the hollow cells that are poured solid with concrete. Concrete Columns and beams holds the whole thing together. To me it’s rather remarkable construction
