Imagine my outrage when I wake up to THIS posted at me:

I am of British descent and I have to disagree… my favorite Sammies are Jew and Italian

No murdy, you have an actual temerity to even think this, we invented the sandwich for cripes sake, where else will you get a proper chip butty or a salt and vinegar crisp with cheese and tomato sandwich? Just because your great great great great great Grandad was English, it does not give you the authority on sandwiches. And I'd like to see your credentials before even contemplating this scandel

What do you put on your sammies, Fred?

When I used to eat sandwiches, I made them with deli turkey, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, mayo, mustard, vinegar. 7 grain bread or whatever it was. And we all used to go to Bay Cities, this Italian deli in Santa Monica. I got tuna sandwiches there.

I also got The Godmother there.

I have cut waaaaaaaaaay back on bread, and now have only one piece of bakery-made sourdough bread a day. No more sandwiches. Which is sad. But, honestly, Portuguese sandwiches are not that good.

Loads of stuff, chicken, cranberry and stuffing, beef and horseradish, lamb and horseradish, tiger bread with ham lettuce and tomato, I could go on. But I draw the line at pastrami and sauerkraut, wtf?
Oh, yes. Post thanksgiving sandwiches were the BEST! Turkey with cranberry sauce! I've never had pastrami and sauerkraut. I'm not a fan of sauerkraut, even though it's really good for you and I have made it at home!

In New Jersey we called em sangweeches
My husband, from New Jersey, calls them sammiches. Although, he is the only person in his family who has only slight vestiges of a New Joisey accent. Only a very few words here and there. Like radiator.

I think pastrami and sauerkraut is what she meant by a jew sandwich, I tried it the other week and was disappointed tbh, I still ate it though. Your sandwich looks good btw

Well, there was a Jewish deli in LA I used to go to. And, of course, there are hundreds of them in NYC. They had all kinds of sandwiches. Pretty darn good. But Bay Cities -- the best. And it was fun to go there because all the guys working there were New Yorkers. They are very crabby. They yelled at you if they didn't like the way you ordered your sandwich.

Lol, they sound like the soup nazi

They were a riot. They have a no=phone policy. If you look at or talk on your phone while you're waiting for your sandwich, you get yelled at. if you do not immediately step up when your number is called, they skip you and you have to start over.

When I went in there with my kids, they were always like, "MOM! Don't do that! |Don't order that way! Don't do this, don't do that!" They wanted their sandwiches.

I have none...I'm from the part of NJ where the NOOYawk and Philly accents cancel each other out.

No one else in your family does, either? What part of NJ is that?

Mine's from Jersey City. All of his family have accents thick as mud.

The middle, Princeton. My parents didn't grow up there they are both foreign born.

Chile and Netherlands...actually if I think about it throughout the 20th century consecutive generations of my family have not been born in the same country.

What is a sandwich, please?
I don't know how to link photos cas I'm a bit of a spaz but its two slices of bread with content. Then you have a club sandwich and that's more than two slices of bread, then theirs a finger sandwich that's the same but cut up smaller.

So the picture I posted is not a sandwich?

Wow. That's quite a combo. Do you speak Spanish? Dutch?
My only fluent language is Turkish. I can read and understand Spanish but can't speak for shit. If I lived in South America I would probably pick it up fast.

Dutch is a totally useless language unfortunately. When I've been there the only people who don't know English know Turkish...lol.

There are loads of Dutch people here, and every single one of them is fluent in English. I mean fully fluent. I haven't met any Turkish people here.
