I didn't see it, so I have no idea. I just don't get why it's such a big frickin deal. Half time shows? I've never watched one in my life.. It was a well presented production technically, but somehow I missed how shaking asses and objectifying women, sexualizing them with no other portrayal at all is an positive endorsement for Puerto Rican culture. Seems more like a reason to religate it to the primitive past.

I had never seen one either, but it was 6 degrees out so no one was taking the dog for a walk or hanging out on the deck.I didn't see it, so I have no idea. I just don't get why it's such a big frickin deal. Half time shows? I've never watched one in my life.
Living in a country that often offers entertainment in English, I can't really complain. I fully appreciate they the Portuguese people go out of their way to communicate with everyone. English is the Lingua Franca here. Spanish is probably the number 2 language in the world. The US would be wise if they started requiring Spanish in schools, the way English is required here in PT.I had never seen one either, but it was 6 degrees out so no one was taking the dog for a walk or hanging out on the deck.
. As Stevie Van Zant said, rough paraphrasing - It was only for Puerto Rican viewers. Not even sub-titled.
That left a significant portion of the viewers out.
Exclusively in Spanish too - fuck that, Lotus.
Maybe next year they can have a Chinese or Rooskie singer singing in those languages, French maybe, no sub-titles. That would be soooo cool.
. I respectfully disagree, Lotus. Spanish, at least here in the Americas is the language of failure. It carries within it the culture and seeds of fail. To help raise those people up it is they who should be adopting the language and culture of the host country rather than imposing the culture they fled on the rest of us.Living in a country that often offers entertainment in English, I can't really complain. 43% of legal Americans are Spanish speakers. Im one, after living in Central America for 26 years. I respectfully disagree, Lotus. Spanish, at least here in the Americas is the language of failure. No, the % is far lower than that. That could be cause for optimism, except that it is trending the wrong way.43% of legal Americans are Spanish speakers.
...but that's the culture though, Regg. It's booty culture.I watched the halftime show. I don't see what the big deal is. This Bunny Rican dude could have picked better looking dancers. All them greasy brown chicks had huge ugly asses.
I was in the airport on Puerto Rico years ago transffering to a connecting flight. All I really recall were the flies and the stench of unwashed Ricans. Other than that it seemed like a nice place. I had an excellent pork sandwich while I was there....but that's the culture though, Regg. It's booty culture.
Shake booty, make baby. That's the culture.
Bad Bunny strikes his arms folded smug Benito Mussolini pose.
Really, it's all about sexual stereotypes. Very primitive.
Well, on second thought, you MAGA are down with that so....
I wouldn't doubt Bad Bunny was at least in part funded by corporations that are losing money because of the Trump tariffs Lex @The Prowler . eg, Ford * CostcoI saw a video of the crowd during the performance.
They were not into it at all.
Such a poor choice of performer.
Oh, brother. it is to every American's advantage to speak more than one language. Almost everyone in Europe does. America is just doing another thing to contribute to its fall by keeping everyone monolingual. It's pure stupidity. Pretty soon, English is going to be the language of fail.. Oh, yeah, French, German, and Latin should be required.Oh, brother. it is to everyone American's advantage to speak more than one language. Almost everyone in Europe does. America is just doing another thing to contribute to its fall by keeping everyone monolingual. It's pure stupidity.
English is required. RMEOh, yeah, French, German, and Latin should be required.
PS: so should English.
Much of America is still wedded to 19th Century values. They think what worked in 1880 still does in 2026 @LotusBud . They clong to a past which is no more & doesn't work in today's world.Oh, brother. it is to every American's advantage to speak more than one language. Almost everyone in Europe does. But they are in for a rude awakening as they will continully be left behind by the rest of the world.
LoLz. Religious and Moral Education. Outstanding. Jump right in here, @Maggie FaggartEnglish is required. RME

I'm talking about in school. In business, the owners will accept whatever allows them to pay the lowest wages. Any US citizen who speaks English AND Spanish has a better chance of getting work, just like here in Portugal, any Portuguese citizen who speaks Portuguese and English has an edge.LoLz. Religious and Moral Education. Outstanding. Jump right in here, @Maggie Faggart
. Lotus, in no real world here in the US is English required.
4 decades in manufacturing makes me very confident of that statement.
Just 1/3 of Germans voted in Hitler & he dragged Germany into ruinTrump has pushed us over the edge and now we are in freefall.
. You know I adore you right, so please take no offence when I tell you that you are severely out of touch with reality.English is going to be the language of fail.
Precisely. You are starting to get this. It's a very big problem, and as you know it is my main argument against mass immigration...aka Corporate Welfare. You can begin to change these things by requiring fluency in English as a requirement to work in the US. A failure is that we have no official language in government or the workplace. In business, the owners will accept whatever allows them to pay the lowest wages.
