They were not into it at all.

I didn't see it, so I have no idea. I just don't get why it's such a big frickin deal. Half time shows? I've never watched one in my life.

I had never seen one either, but it was 6 degrees out so no one was taking the dog for a walk or hanging out on the deck.
. As Stevie Van Zant said, rough paraphrasing - It was only for Puerto Rican viewers. Not even sub-titled.
That left a significant portion of the viewers out.
Exclusively in Spanish too - fuck that, Lotus.
Maybe next year they can have a Chinese or Rooskie singer singing in those languages, French maybe, no sub-titles. That would be soooo cool.

I was in the airport on Puerto Rico years ago transffering to a connecting flight. All I really recall were the flies and the stench of unwashed Ricans. Other than that it seemed like a nice place. I had an excellent pork sandwich while I was there.

I'm talking about in school. In business, the owners will accept whatever allows them to pay the lowest wages. Any US citizen who speaks English AND Spanish has a better chance of getting work, just like here in Portugal, any Portuguese citizen who speaks Portuguese and English has an edge.

.. English is the world language of business and technology.
In the world of the learned it is English alone which is the common language. Go to an international lecture given by a Nobel awarded researcher anywhere in the world and they speak in English.
. No one gives a shit what people speak over coffee to a friend, but in the advanced corners of the world ot is English that matters.

Precisely. You are starting to get this. It's a very big problem, and as you know it is my main argument against mass immigration...aka Corporate Welfare. You can begin to change these things by requiring fluency in English as a requirement to work in the US. A failure is that we have no official language in government or the workplace.
