I happen to believe that no one, or at least nonpathogical people, are truly evil and that many people who exhibit bad logic, ignorance, or things like bigotry they still are capable of good things as well. They definitely do have failings they need to address and improve upon though. That's called being human. That said, we have to want to improve in order to do so. Hopefully, you will reach the point where you want to improve, some day.

and in my professional life, I've hung out and worked closely with both Jews
and Palestinians. Also, with Egyptians, Tunisians, Algerians, Moroccans, Syrians, Lebanese, Jordanians, Saudis, Yemeni, and even secular Israelis who bristled at being thought of as "Jews."
My first contact with Palestinian culture and society came in 1982, when Lebanese Christian militias massacred hundreds, including women and children, at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps. Some ten years later, I became best buds at uni with a Jordanian chap whose family's estate and property on the outskirts of Amman were "seized" by Israel "for security reasons." The family--including the pater familias, who worked as a diplomat for the U.N.--was left homeless and rootless, eventually finding its way to Ohio.
I have no love for Israel. I rather side with Moonie on this one. The State of Israel often acts like a terrorist agent. I mean, it's the Middle East.. who doesn't?
But here's where you and I differ, Sweetpea: in the real world--the world of flesh and blood and bone--I interact with people, not with ideas. With individuals, not with ideologies. Call me an Ethical Situationist, if you will. I will not harbour hatred for a Jew just because Israel bombed a building on the Strip nor will I hate a Palestinian just because her father threw rocks at an Israeli tank during the first Intifada.
That best bud I spoke of above? He became radicalized over the course of our friendship. He went from being a secular Arab to a hardcore Muslim in the space of ten short years. The fallout from 9/11 included his car being vandalized and his storefront trashed (he owned a bookstore), his parents and cousins threatened on a daily basis. And, this, in a place far from NYC, in a country not the U.S.
