My wife and stepsons have gone to Las Vegas this holiday weekend.

Her brother and her husband (they are gay married) live in Las Vegas, my wife's younger sister and her husband are also bringing their two children as the boy has a baseball game in Vegas, while my mother in law is also going to visit her son. I told them I hope they all have a wonderful time but that is far to many people for me in one house.

I am thus left alone this holiday weekend and I think I will go hiking tomorrow morning and maybe go cliff diving tomorrow at sunset cliffs. You do have to time things correctly to avoid the rocks but this is what it looks like.

My dad was a lifeguard, surfer and a cliff diver. He jumped off the London Bridge @ lake Havasu when I was 7. It was illegal and very exciting. My uncle was waiting at the bottom with his speedboat and me in it :)

When I got home it was dark and stinky butt was absolutely squealing that it was past his dinner time and how could I forget about him? I have never seen a cat inhale a can of cat food faster. At least I made sure to give him his favorite "gravy lover's turkey feast."

We're talking half a rack of baby back ribs and half a smoked chicken with soup or salad and two sides for $14, $7 top sirloin dinner, a giant cut of prime rib for $16, or a surf and turf for $16. Plus I know everyone else will like their house brewed beer for $2.50.

Yeah, they make it all in house, the portions are generous, and they always have deals for people with player's club cards. It is one of the only places which does low limits traditional rules fkve deck blackjack. Just about every where else on the strip has the new low odds, bad payout, blackjack. It is basically the only place on the strip I play blackjack.

When it comes to trying to figure out the quality of a restaurant I always say order theor French onion soup. It is a relatively simple dish but mechanically there are a lot of steps too it. First they have to saute the onions and get them properly browned, then they have to add the consome to make sure everything melds together, then they have to add the toast and bake it to melt the cheese on top. Like I said, relatively simple but a number of steps all of which need to be properly executed in order to end up with a quality product. If they can do that then it means you are at a good restaurant.

Being from SoCal, I know a million dollar house in SD is something like this:

I took a look on realtor.com. The houses are quite expensive there. A million will get you in a house 1700-2000 square feet. But, as Oerdin touched on, he is enjoying his close proximity to the ocean.

My house is worth somewhere in the $1.1 million range, but it is 2700 square feet, plus about 1000 square feet of finished basement. That is CAD too, which is not even $900K USD.
